Got a text from Virgin Money on 01/01/2023, plus a missed call on my home phone. Tried calling Virgin Money but their customer service is shut, so no way to check. My phone banking just repeats the same debit and credit figures a million times. There's one actual debit missing, so I reckon my card will be blocked until Virgin’s office reopens.

Heads up, folks. I got a text about some suspicious activity on my account. I looked into it and it turned out to be true. The text asked me to reply Y or N. Then I got an automatic message telling me to call a 0333 number supposedly open round the clock. I spoke to someone at Virgin Money just to be sure, and they said that number isn’t the right one to call and the fraud team definitely don’t work 24/7. Really watch out for these dodgy messages.

I received a text right after I made a purchase on Amazon. My payment was instantly put on hold, and soon after, my bank card got frozen too. I called my bank, Virgin Money, and they said it was them who did it. After running through some security questions, they lifted the block on my account. This is total nonsense!! I actually got in touch with Yorkshire Bank/Clydesdale Bank myself and they told me if there was any sort of fraud happening, they'd have to talk to you DIRECTLY to check security info first to make sure they're dealing with the right person. Only then would they bring up any weird activity they think might be suspicious.

Watch out, folks. This might actually belong to the Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank, but scammers have faked every phone number banks use. If your bank contacts you, listen carefully but don’t give out any info, not even your name. Hang up and ring your bank back using the number on your card, making sure your line is clear first. Don’t leave it too long though, just in case there's a real problem. This advice is solid. Stay safe everyone!

I’m sure this is the fraud team from Clydesdale Bank checking it’s actually you who's trying to buy something. I called Clydesdale myself because my card got blocked, and after talking to them, they removed the block and I was able to buy what I needed. Shows they’re on the ball, really good service from them.
