Got a call from a lady speaking with a weird accent, telling some confused tale about a client interested in buying my Fidelity plc shares. I told her I don’t own any. Then she said she could check if maybe I’d just forgotten, but wanted my bank and investment info for that. Totally a dodgy scam. Alan Eff

I've gotten a couple of calls from someone about a business that's actually closed down. They refuse to say who they are, which is pretty shady. They just keep ringing and it's starting to feel like a total scam.

This number called me a couple of times looking for some Martin. I told them they’d got the wrong person and asked who was calling, but they just refused to say who they were. Obviously I’m not Martin, so I ended the call. The worst bit is I can’t block the number on my landline. These scam calls are getting ridiculous!

Pretty obvious scam tbh, I let him run his spiel all the way then just blocked the number on my phone!

My dad got a call from Rosewell Consulting Group, trying to convince him to sell his shares. They asked for a $5,000 deposit supposedly to guarantee the transaction.

I rang them myself and after speaking to them, I’m convinced it’s a complete con.

For several weeks now, I’ve been getting calls from a bloke abroad asking about me selling my Stagecoach shares. He even sent me an NDA from some firm called Rosewell Consulting Group. I looked up the number online and I’m not convinced it’s legit. If he calls one more time, I’m going to have a proper go at him. Joe from Newcastle here.

I got a ring from someone overseas asking about some shares in Jarvis Plc, which actually went under back in 2010. He wanted to buy the shares but said I had to pay for a bond or some kind of insurance before they'd send me the money. I told him flat out that he sounded like a con artist, and the call just cut off suddenly. Tried to check the number using 1471 and, not surprisingly, it was the same one - but now the line just goes dead. Honestly, it’s a total scam, so watch out!

Some scammer was spinning a yarn about some shares they supposedly bought ages ago, now apparently worth a tidy sum!!! They wanted a cut of the value to sort out some “insurance bond” or something..... yeah, you can imagine how that ended!!!
