Picked up the call but there was silence, no one spoke. They hung up after about five seconds.

He called claiming to be Alexander Maynard and mentioned something about a shareholding with Rentokill, I think. His Indian accent was pretty hard to follow, and he asked specifically for us by name.

This number rang me up, offering to sell Lonhro voting shares they claimed I had. I told them as far as I knew, I owned no such shares, but they were persistent. They even got my email under the pretense I might have owned some before and promised to send me a document allowing me to claim between £7 and £15 per share if I signed a non-disclosure agreement. I’ve received nothing so far. Apparently, they said they found my info on the share register. Seems dodgy to me.

I got several missed calls from this number on 14th Nov 2018 at 6:43pm, then again on 21st Nov around 2:05pm, 22nd Nov at about 7:36pm, 3rd Dec 2018 in the afternoon (2:19pm), and just today at 3:23pm.

They rang me earlier but I missed it, so it went straight to voicemail. When I listened back, the message had someone swearing, saying 'you f*****g s**t'. Not exactly the best way to run a business if you ask me.

So, I got a call from Zimmerman Capital Management, they said something about a hostile takeover of RELX, trying to snatch over half the shares, like 51%. They talked all this insurance stuff that was pretty confusing. Feels dodgy, like they’re setting up an advance fee scam or something. Be careful with calls like this!

Got a call earlier today from someone claiming they wanted to buy my De La Rue shares for a really good price, but only if I agreed to some non-disclosure thing. No clue where they pulled my name or my landline from. Feels like a total scam to me.

Got a call from overseas about some De La Rue shares, the guy had a strong Indian accent and claimed to be the owner of the company. I ended up hanging up on him. Then he called me back from the same number, saying he wanted to purchase my shares because he aimed to control more than half of De La Rue. I cut the call once again.

Someone kept ringing us non stop, right when it was 7 pm. My partner got really fed up with it and ended up shouting at whoever was on the other end. There was this weird music playing on the answer machine the whole time. It was so annoying!

I got a call from this really pushy person the other day. They just wouldn’t stop ringing, and my husband got so fed up he ended up cursing at whoever was on the line. It was around 7 pm, and all we could hear was some kind of music playing on the answering machine.

A woman called me, sounding like she had an Indian or Pak*stani accent, claiming she worked for some share selling outfit. She told me one of the companies I have shares in was ready to buy them back for 8 to 17 pounds each. I requested that she send me the information through the post so I could have a proper look. She quickly said it was a limited time offer, first come first served, and if I waited for the letter, the best price might be gone. I insisted that I needed time to properly review the offer before deciding anything.

Got a call from this number around 2.30pm on Friday the 13th of April. As soon as it went to voicemail, they just hung up.

I got a call from someone saying they wanted to buy my shares. They sent over a non-disclosure agreement to sign. The company named was WINGBOURNE ADVISORS LLC based in New York, and the phone number was a US one: 001 914 233 5345. I remember getting a similar ring about the same shares back in 2015 from 001 777 889 7116. Neither that 01777 number nor the one from 2015 seems to be real anymore. However, the US number does connect to the actual company, which even has a site at http://www.wingbourneadvisors.com/. Looks like they might be using VoIP which could explain why the 01777 number doesn’t respond properly. It all feels a bit dodgy, but I’m thinking I might proceed with care and see what happens next.

Just got a call from this number, they were trying to convince me to hand over my Aviva shares.

This number keep ringing me about some takeover involving a company where I own a few shares. They even emailed me asking to sign a non disclosure agreement, which I haven’t signed. I’ve asked them several times for more info about this supposed takeover but no answer so far. The calls come from a firm called Mayford Capital Partners. The FCA has warned to stay clear of them, and I plan to do just that.

So, these people say they're from Campton Capital Partners, using this address: 542 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10016. They gave me the phone number 1 646 878 6735 and a fax, 1 646 219 1707, plus an email [email protected] and the site www.camptoncapitalpartners.com. But here's the weird bit - that address turns out to be an IMAX cinema. Doesn't sound right, does it?
