Got a text on my mate's teenage son's phone from this 07759129409 number. Claimed to be NHS telling him he'd been near someone with Omicron. Lucky he was sensible enough not to click any links. I worry about how many elderly folks might fall for this, panicking and handing over their bank info believing it’s legit for postage or covid tests. These scammers really have zero shame, it’s disgusting, honestly makes me sick. Absolute ####.

Problem is, this is a brand new phone number of mine that’s not linked to any NHS stuff or my doctor or any medical apps. Every time someone rings me, it just goes straight to voicemail. Pretty sure it’s a scam. I know I can get free covid tests from the chemist anyway.

Got a text from 07759129409 really early at like 5.30am. It said it was the NHS telling me I’d been close to someone with the Omicron variant and I should click a link to get a test kit quickly. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t legit NHS, so I ignored the link and am planning to report it to the cops. Do yourself a favour and don’t tap on that link - it’s definitely a phishing scam.

Got a message claiming I was close to someone with the "Omircron" Variant and telling me to order a test kit here: https://urgent-test-kit.com. First off, it's spelled wrong. Also, I never leave my Bluetooth switched on, so how would it know anyway? Seems dodgy to me.

Today I got a negative result on my Covid test, which was a relief. Before that, I found out I’d been near someone who caught the Omicron variant of the virus. Also, I checked my NHS app and it hadn’t sent out any alerts or warnings about contact, which seemed a bit odd to me.
