I’ve had loads of calls from this number. It goes straight to my voicemail but they never say anything, just hang up. Quite annoying really.

Got another call from a different number but with the exact same spiel about checking wall insulation. I’ve now blocked that number too. The caller was really insistent, speaking to my elderly husband who tends to answer calls if he sees a number on the screen and is polite enough to chat a bit. We’re trying to teach him to be wary of these sorts of callers since they’re definitely just trying to con folks.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Gem? Talked about insulation for walls and damp getting through the bricks causing cold patches and sagging. He said they'd need to check it and suggested some treatment that costs money. I told him I wasn’t paying for anything and it just seemed like a con, so I hung up straight away.

After getting a silent call from this number, I rang them back. The woman who answered sounded really shocked, especially when I told her to stop calling and mind her own business. She mentioned she was trying to speak to my husband, even knew his name (212), but was caught off guard when I said he was right there if she wanted a word. I reckon she expected him to be out since it was lunchtime on a Thursday. Since then, they've rung a few more times but just left silent calls. Feels like they don't enjoy it when the tables are turned!
