I picked up and heard a woman say something like Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs legal matter, press 1 to talk to an officer, but when I pressed 1 there was no reply. The use of ‘Her’ instead of ‘His’ was an instant warning sign since the real HMRC would never mess that up. The woman’s voice was barely clear, making it pretty clear it was a dodgy call. Honestly, it was so badly done it was nearly funny - if it wasn’t for the fact they’re trying to scam folks out of their cash.
