I recently had a rather peculiar phone call from this number, with the caller purporting to be from the Metropolitan Police. She insisted that I should report to the station immediately. I couldn’t help but notice her English was a bit off, suggesting she wasn’t a native speaker. She mentioned some officer ID, A13685, if I recall correctly. A male colleague joined the conversation shortly after-his English was clearer but still tinged with an accent. He proceeded to accuse me of being linked to some international criminal activity and claimed that I was associated with five fraudulent bank accounts. It struck me as a classic scam attempt, and their rather poor command of English only added to my suspicion.
