Someone rang up asking to talk to my partner by name. I told them to say who they were and what it was about, and then I’d check if she wanted to chat. Instead, they just kept saying they wanted to speak with her and said they’d call back later before hanging up. Our number’s been on the TPS for like 20 years now.

I called some landlines just now, picked up and there was this lag before a guy with a thick foreign accent started talking about drainage insurance. He was trying to say he could offer it cheaper but I don’t even have that kind of insurance. Told him no thanks and then blocked his number straight away.

Sounds like a total rip-off - they say they can sort out cheaper insurance for my household gadgets but it's just a scam.

My landline rang while I was right next to it, but I ignored it ‘cos I didn’t know the number. As soon as my answer machine started, they stayed on the line for a bit but hung up before it finished. Seeing the reviews here, sounds like I did the right thing not picking up. I’ve gone ahead and blocked and deleted the number now.

Got a call from some guy named Matt claiming he was with Direct Maintenance in Monmouth. I tried to look them up online but couldn’t find anything about the company. He said he could reduce my plumbing and drain cover costs, told me I’m coughing up £250 at the moment, which isn’t true as I don’t have any cover at all - I sort my own repairs. While we were still chatting, I checked this site and asked why this number has scam reports, and then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from a woman with bad English speaking about some plumbing and drainage insurance discount. Seems like a total scam to me and quite risky! I’ve tried blocking the number on my home phone but it just won’t let me. Really annoying!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was William. He asked for me personally and said he was from some Drain Maintenance company. He claimed he could help us save on our plumbing bills and wanted to know how much we were paying at the moment. I didn’t give him any info, just told him we’re happy with who we’ve got and hung up. Seems like a total scam to me, so I’ve blocked the number. I wouldn't be surprised if they ring again from another one!

For the past two weeks, I've been getting calls non stop from numbers between 07700 370800 and 07700 370883. When you answer, they say they're calling from some "education centre" or "profit centre." I've been blocking every single number as they come through. Just today, I blocked another one that came from a different prefix - 07515 570305. Really annoying!
