Got a phone call from someone saying they were with EE, offering me a phone upgrade. Problem is, I’m not even with EE, so I was pretty suspicious right away. Tried ringing the number back but got no answer, and my texts went unanswered too. Oddly, the number is connected to a WhatsApp account where the person insists they’re not a scammer. Still, it’s clear they weren’t actually from EE. I’m a bit wary about the WhatsApp chat, but it feels like this might be a cloned number. Best bet is to just ignore the call unless you personally know who owns that number.
