01200429440 - Got a voicemail claiming they were from Amazon, saying my bank would be charged for renewing my Prime subscription, and to press 1 to talk to someone. I don’t even have a Prime account, so I pressed 1 to ask for help. The woman started explaining how to cancel it, but I told her to buzz off. I checked my Amazon account afterwards, and it showed no Prime subscription. Seems like a dodgy scam call to me. Avoid this number.

Got a call from 09853180526 with a weird robot voice saying loads of numbers and finishing with "Happy Snappy". I’ve put it on my landline block list now. I checked online and some folks reckon its linked to Snapchat or something? Not sure tho, I don’t even use Snapchat!

This number is totally a scam. I was told to report it to Action Fraud at www.actionfraud.police.uk, so if you get a call from them, you should do the same. They sounded really believable and tried to see if I was eligible for an IVA, probably to sell my info to IVA firms.

This lady with an accent called me saying I had debts and was only paying the minimum each month. When I asked who I supposedly owed, she just kept saying I owed money and she could assist. I asked again who I owed, and then she questioned if I understood English. That was quite rude. I ended the call.

If you get spam texts, just send them to 7726 and the networks will have a look and block them. Same goes for dodgy calls from mobiles - send a text to 7726 with 'scam caller' and they’ll take care of it.

I just got a call from this company. The first person said he was with a debt advice charity working for the UK government. He told me to check out their website [#]debtadvicefoundation[###], which looks legit enough. I'm a bit unsure what to make of it, especially as I wasn't happy about being cold called, which I mentioned to him. I told him I'd need some time to consider and would ring back. He was fine with that and asked when he should call me, but I said I’d call him instead before hanging up. He rang me back less than 2 minutes later, but I didn’t pick up.

Got a call from a man with an Indian/Bangladeshi accent, said his name was Alan and sounded British. Claimed to be from some debt collection agency, telling me I owed money. When I denied it, he insisted his records showed I did. I asked him to specify the amount and the creditor, then he just said alright and ended the call. Total scam!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from Citizens Advice. She said she got my number from some government source about debts. She kept asking about my overdrafts and credit cards, saying they could 'write most off' and kept mentioning a recent BBC programme about debt to sound legit. I told her I wasn’t interested and she got quite pushy and rude. When I asked her to take my number off their list, she just hung up. Pretty sure scams like this are aimed at older and more vulnerable people to con them. The police really need to crack down on these fraudsters.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, saying I owed some money. I asked her to remove me from their list and stop calling, but she said the UK government had allowed them to contact me. I wasn’t having any of it and argued back. She said the call was being recorded and they’d take legal steps against me. I kept going. She claimed the debt was from credit cards, but when I told her I don’t have any, she hung up. Can’t believe how persistent these scammers are. I usually just ignore them, but she caught me on a bad day and just wouldn’t let it go.

In the past few years, I’ve gotten about a dozen calls from this complete waste of space, always using a new number and some ridiculous scam. Every time I ask who it is, he either hangs up straight away or starts shouting and swearing, or weirdly says he won’t hang up ‘cause he fancies my voice and wants to be my boyfriend, even making gross sounds like he’s… well, you get the idea 🤢. Honestly, I hope no one ever falls for his nonsense, he seriously needs to be put an end to.

My guess is it was some sort of automated service trying to see if a human was there before connecting me to a live agent, and when I didn’t respond, it cut off.

You can report this by texting 'scam caller' to 7726, and the phone companies will investigate and block the number. Also, if you get suspicious messages, just forward them to 7726, and they’ll look into it and stop them.

How much longer is this gonna go on? Surely most folks can spot a scam by now, right? It’s been happening for ages. I just let my phone ring if I don’t see a caller’s name. The poor elderly ones keep falling for it though, which is heartbreaking. These scammers are just the worst, but they don’t seem to stop. It’s a pain because it puts people off answering legitimate calls from businesses. Sometimes it’s tricky with mobile numbers showing, but I still won’t pick up unless I recognise the name. If it’s something important, they'll usually send a text anyway.

Got a call from a bloke with a really thick Pakistani or Indian accent, and strangely, he seemed to know my name already. How on earth did he find that out?! Most of what he was saying didn’t make sense to me, maybe about 90% went over my head. He kept bringing up some "debts", so I reckon he was trying to get me to send money for something I don’t even owe. Absolute scoundrel. Fingers crossed someone spots this scammer before anyone else gets caught out!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from the Citizens Bureau, said I owe them cash. Total con. Best to just ignore it.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from the benefits office. I told him I’m employed, so there’s no way it’s legit. Then he switched to say I had some money owing on benefits. I told him again that it sounded like a scam, and just ended the call and blocked the number. 100% a scam attempt!

I got a call from this number and they were asking for someone that isn’t me. When I told them I had no clue who they were looking for, they just hung up and told me to #### off! So rude!

Some bloke called me pretending to be a credit checker, had a strong accent and wouldn’t tell me which company he was from or how he got my info. Ended up hanging up and I just blocked the number straight away!

If you get a dodgy call, just txt 'scam caller' to 7726 and the phone companies look into it and block them. Same goes for dodgy txts, forward them to 7726 so they can sort it out and stop the nuisance.
