Got a text saying Deliveroo tried to take money from my bank, asking if it was me. Didn’t reply, instead I rang my bank who said the message was legit and they’re freezing that account now. The bank rep also read out some recent payments for me to check if I recognised them or not.

I got a message from this number saying it was Lloyds TSB asking about a payment from my account, and I was a bit suspicious at first. I called Lloyds myself and they said it was legit, and turns out my card had been used fraudulently. They connected me to the fraud department who immediately blocked my card. DO NOT RESPOND TO TEXTS FROM THIS NUMBER!! Got a message saying it was from Lloyds Bank asking me to reply yes or no to confirm if I'd made a card transaction to Muzikdart. Foolishly, I thought it was a legit security check from my bank. A few days later, my banking app showed an attempt by Muzikdart to take a large sum from my account, but it didn’t go through as I had already reported this Muzikdart firm before, linked to a website called playbunt[###]. Total scammers!

I spent ages looking into this number and found out it’s linked to Halifax’s fraud department. I didn’t reply to the original text but checked the Halifax site myself to get the official fraud number, just to be on the safe side. When I rang the fraud team directly, they confirmed some dodgy transactions had been made on my card. It’s all been dealt with now.

It’s definitely a scam, anyone saying it’s legit is probably part of it. I reported the number to my bank’s fraud team because it was pretending to be my bank. I don’t even have an account with Halifax, so it’s a clear con. Still, Halifax were really concerned about someone using their name. I’m confident the bank will track the scammers down.

This was legit. I got a message saying "Lloyds bank. There was an attempt to use your card on Ebay. Reply Yes or No." At first, I thought it was dodgy, but it showed the last 4 digits of my card. I rang Lloyds to check, and it was true, someone did try making a purchase with my card. They've cancelled it now. If you get a message like this, just phone your bank. Don’t just brush it off as a scam straight away.

They charged me £1 for postage for an iPhone prize, then a few days later took £49.95 without asking me. Today (8/2/2021) I got a text saying £49.95 was taken by Plus atmax5[###], and they phoned to say they’d block everything, but I reckon it’s all a scam.

I got a text from Halifax saying: "You'll soon get a message from Halifax to verify recent activity on your card ending ####". Then this number messaged me saying my payment was declined and asked if it was me. I said yes, as I was actually trying to make a purchase. They replied with thanks for confirming and said to try the payment again if needed. No need to ring them. It’s been around 40 mins now, I’ve checked my bank statements loads of times and see nothing unusual, but I’ll stay alert just in case.

I got in touch with Halifax and after a bit of back and forth, they did confirm that my Mum’s account had been tampered with, so those messages were spot on. I’d recommend giving Halifax a ring yourself just to double-check everything. Despite the wait, the people on the phone were really good and the money was put back into my Mum’s account today.

Today I got a message from Lloyds saying some place named American Career College tried to take 17p from my account. I called up and they explained scammers often try to take tiny amounts like 1p just to see if they can, and if you reply yes, they might clear out your whole account! I’m having a new card sent so hopefully that sorts it. Definitely have a word with your bank if you're not certain and keep a close eye on your bank statements!

Just wanted to say this number is legit - I didn’t respond to the text but instead rang the Bank of Scotland customer service from my landline because they spotted some strange stuff happening with my account. Things like travel bookings, hotel reservations, a Domino's takeaway order, and a Netflix subscription that I didn’t make. They told me to keep a close eye on my account over the next week to catch any more dodgy transactions and said they’re passing the info to the fraud team.

Got a text from Lloyds Bank, but it was from a mobile number, saying my card was used on some website and a big sum of money was taken out. They asked me to reply yes or no to confirm the transaction. Seemed fishy to me, but I had actually got an earlier message from Lloyds saying they’d send a follow-up text about this. Really strange situation.
