Got a text from FedEx about paying customs charges for something I ordered coming into the UK. I double-checked with the seller and FedEx themselves, and it all seems above board. Basically, FedEx covers the upfront customs fees so your parcel arrives quicker, but you gotta pay them back an extra amount based on the item's value. I initially suspected it was some sort of scam, but then I found out it was actually the real FedEx text service. I was waiting on a delivery, just didn’t realise FedEx was handling it. Then, about 4 days later, I got another text from the same number saying I had to pay an extra £50 for import fees. Got a message from FedEx showing my parcel’s tracking number and saying I owed over £200 in import fees, including a link to pay. I ignored it and waited for my parcel as usual. When the delivery man arrived, he didn’t ask for any money at all. Definitely a scam text.

Got a message from some FedEx number about my parcel, and an email too. Bit odd since the number looked random and FedEx isn’t really used in the UK, but I did order something from the US so I guess it adds up.

This number is definitely from FedEx, not some trick. I received texts about a package coming and it showed up right on time. I ordered stuff online but wasn’t expecting FedEx to handle the delivery, so I thought it might be dodgy at first. Turns out, the seller ships with FedEx after all.

I've received a notification saying my FedEx parcel is set to arrive by the 21st of June. If I need to change the delivery date, I should visit https://www.fedex.com/gb/delivery?s=6pviHkyb6NxH before 11:59pm. Alternatively, I can simply reply with STOP if I wish to cancel.
