And let’s not forget the ridiculousness of our current state: recently, I witnessed a young assistant struggling to tally up a purchase because the till broke, frantically searching for her phone's calculator. I asked her why she didn’t just use pen and paper; she looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language. The saddest part is that youngsters today are largely unprepared for the world without technology - they rely on their tablets to learn and are missing out on basic skills we took for granted. If I were given the option to live in a bygone era like the 30s, 40s, or 50s versus a future filled with rapid technological advances, without a doubt, I’d choose the simpler times. I got a similar message today, and it's clearly a dodgy attempt to scam me since I haven't made any purchases with that company. I've reported it to my mobile provider by sending it to 7726, which is the number for spam. Fingers crossed they can do something about it. I highly recommend that anyone who gets such nonsense messages follows suit and forwards them to 7726 as well - it doesn’t cost a penny!
