Got a WhatsApp from someone saying they were my son. They claimed his old phone was broken, so this was his new number, and he needed me to send £1125 to an Andreas Varga for a laptop and phone, as apparently his files were frozen due to the change. They said he was in Thailand and I asked if it was a Thai phone number - they said yes. But when I looked up the prefix, it showed it belonged to Stour Marine, which is actually in the UK. Tried grilling them with questions, but they just ignored me and said my son was really stressed and I wasn’t helping by doubting them. Then they pushed for me to just send the money. Felt super dodgy.
