Got a robo call claiming to be from HMRC saying they’d been trying to reach me and to press 1. I did, but then some bloke with a thick accent answered and asked me why I was calling! I told him I wanted to confirm who he was, and he tried to check my details using my number but got it completely wrong. I told him I’d remarried over a decade ago and expected HMRC to have my updated info before I just ended the call. Definitely a scam!

This morning, my elderly mum, who’s 90, received a call from this number. They told her to press a button to speak to someone about HMRC taking action, but thankfully she didn’t press anything. She actually thought they said “police officer,” which terrified her! So, instead of following the instructions, she called me straight away. I’ve now reported the number to Action Fraud.

This is the second call I've got from these people, claiming I’m facing some lawsuit. Sounds like they’re probably based in the States. Definitely a scam in my book. I’m gonna block the number through BT.

So apparently HMRC is trying to sue me now. Like, what even for? First off, HMRC actually phoning me directly? That’s so sketchy. Honestly, anyone doing stuff like this should be behind bars!

Yesterday, a mate of mine was in absolute bits after getting a really scary phone call. She’s in her eighties and thought it was for real, which had her really shaken up. It’s awful how these scammers are terrorising folks like that, there really needs to be something done to put a stop to it.

I got a recorded call at first claiming I owed HMRC a fine and to press 1. They said they’d give me a callback number, but as I reached for a pen to write it down, the call just ended. Sounds dodgy to me, definitely a scam, though I didn’t stick around long enough to figure out what they were trying to push.

Got a call supposedly from HMRC saying they needed to talk about some case notes regarding me. They asked me to press 1, and I did since I was concerned there might be an error. It’s quite frightening when you believe it’s actually HMRC. Then someone came on the line and started asking loads of questions, but I didn’t respond since it didn’t feel right. I told them I’d call back and then they just ended the call. Honestly, if their story was more believable, I might well have been tricked.
