Got a call from 07520652225 around 1:06 pm on my landline. The bloke was really hard to make out, kept mumbling and not speaking up, bit like he was either too tired or just a soft talker. After a few tries, I just ended the call. All I caught was something about the internet. It wasn’t from my provider though, cos they always email me for stuff like that. Plus, I only just upgraded my internet yesterday. Seems dodgy, so I reckon it was a scam.

Got a call from 07520652225 at 1.06 pm on my landline. The guy kept mumbling and wasn't speaking clearly at all, even when I asked him to repeat. Felt like he was either too quiet on purpose or just really worn out. Ended up hanging up because I couldn’t make out much. He mentioned something about the internet, but it wasn’t my provider since they always email me first. Plus, I just started a new internet deal yesterday. Pretty sure it was a scam, so I ignored it.

On 7th Feb at 1.18pm, I took a call from this number. A lady with an accent that wasn’t British claimed to be from Microsoft, saying there was an issue with my computer. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve had calls like this over the past two decades. I got pretty annoyed and told her she ought to be ashamed, making a living out of this rubbish and wrecking people’s lives. I know an elderly mate who had a nervous breakdown after falling for a scam like this a couple of years back, and sadly she passed away a few months later because she couldn’t cope on her own anymore.

It's really important to report every scam call or text to the cyber crime police using the official channels if we want these scams to end. You can find instructions on how to report and more info about scams in the posts starting 11 below here. Don’t just expect someone else to do it. If no-one reports scammy calls or messages, they’ll just carry on, so stop moaning about it without doing anything. Reading properly seems to be a lost skill nowadays, and scammers know exactly how to exploit that.
3 years
No stress, we’ll ring back when you’re not about to get the rest of the info 😉

INDIAN SCAMMERS FOR SURE! You might wanna take a quick look through a few of these comments, there's some good info here. From what I know, the coppers at Action Fraud team up with foreign police to take down the gangs behind these scams - it’s proper organised crime. Every time we report a dodgy number or scam, it helps the police, coz honestly they’re just guessing how many of these scams are out there.

Here’s how to get in touch with the system the police (NFIB) set up so people can easily report ALL scam phone calls, texts, emails, and other fraud attempts. I was told about this when I raised the issue of all the scam calls I was getting with my MP. It seems scammers really don’t want this info to be widely known. If you don’t report these attempts, don’t be surprised if nothing changes. While messaging 7726, your phone company, Ofcom, or the company scammers pretend to be might help somewhat, often the info won’t reach the police for any criminal follow-up.

Being able to read well is one skill that really sticks with you through life. Have a look at the post just above this one and give it a thought. It might just shed some light on why those dodgy scam calls don’t seem to stop. Honestly, they probably wouldn’t bother if everyone reported them straight away. But the problem is, every so often, they actually trick someone and end up cleaning out their bank account.

If you scroll down about a dozen posts from here, you’ll probably see why these scam calls keep bugging us. There’s loads of info shared below on how to flag these fraud calls straight to the cyber crime folks, why just blocking them isn’t enough, and other helpful tips. Trouble is, most people either don’t bother to look back through the posts or just ignore the advice even if they do. That’s exactly why these scammers keep having a laugh, knowing plenty won’t report them. Once they pull off a trick, they vanish and pop up again with a new number but the same hustle.

My phone showed a silent call alert around 2:30 this afternoon, but I didn't bother returning the call. There wasn’t any voicemail waiting either. Added the number to my block list, though not sure how much good that’ll do.

Got a call that said it was from ’3’ mobile, but after reading what others have said, looks pretty dodgy. When I answered, some woman with an Asian accent stayed silent for a bit before saying anything. Definitely felt off and not something legit.

Got a call from 07520652225 saying they were from Carphone Warehouse. Told the guy I wasn’t interested ‘cause I don’t like any of their phones. He insisted they have every phone out there. I mentioned OnePlus, said they don’t stock that. He claimed they did. Asked about their website, he said it wasn’t updated yet. The line went dead after that, so I just ended the call. Later, they rang me back from a different number 01514537449. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Someone said they were from O2 but had no clue about any of my info. Sounds dodgy to me.

Got a call claiming to be from housing repairs or something like that - definitely a scam.

Got a call from this number on 16th January around 12:41, claiming to be from Currys PC World with some mobile phone deals. The moment I told them I wasn’t interested they just ended the call.

Got a call from someone who claimed to be Mike with Housing Repairs. The way he was talking was odd, like there was a strange lag or maybe it was just a recorded message. Pretty sure it was one of those scam calls.

They ended the call quickly, felt like it might have turned out worse tho.

Got a message saying they were from Evri saying they tried to drop off a parcel. Watched my CCTV and noone turned up at all! It’s clear its a SCAM like loads others have said. Never share your bank info. Just ring the company they claim to be from yourself to check whats really happening and also let the genuine firm know someone’s pretending to be them.
