It’s quite unlikely you could link this to "every single family member" since most of them aren’t involved at all. I’m willing to share whatever details I have, but I did try contacting the guy who was said to be gathering info for the Hull Daily Mail a few months back (can’t remember his name) and he never got back to me.

Honestly, I’m gobsmacked. You won’t think this is real. I just rang Hull Magistrates court to check what happened. He got charged with three separate things and was found guilty. The sentence was community unpaid work plus £545 in compensation. I’ve told my MP, Emma Hardy, how annoyed I am and she’s promised to contact Humberside Police for me. I reckon ActionFraud have really dropped the ball here, failing to connect all the cases and deal with them together properly.

Even now he’s still running his scams on Facebook using the name Dan Taylor. Foolishly, he left ‘jacob Bailey’ in the Facebook URL he set up. He’s been tricking people who collect film memorabilia, and now he’s expanded to folks in the US and Canada too. Would really value any recent info on him.

Got no clue where he’s staying now but 46 Didscourt ain’t his place and Stella Bailey doesn’t live in Chadcourt any longer. Fingers crossed the bloke commentin’ below is right and he actually gets jail time. He’s been like this for ages. It kicked off with nicking stuff from his own family and just escalated. Somehow, he always manages to dodge the consequences.

Got scammed on Gumtree. The bloke says he never got my money but my bank says otherwise. He’s been texting from this number and also emailing me from someone called Mikey Bailey, who I reckon is his brother. I’m going to report it to the police as well. I’ve seen loads of posts about him and it’s shocking he’s still managing to get away with it!

Saw a dodgy listing on Gumtree from a bloke calling himself Michael Woods. Claims he’s selling stuff but asks you to send cash through PayPal to a 'family member' - turns out that person’s actually a buyer. Basically, he’s making you pay for things he wants, not what he’s saying he’s selling. Proper con, be careful!

I got worried when he sent a pic of an iPhone still in the sealed box along with a separate message showing the imei number. The imei numbers didn’t match up at all. I searched the info I has about him - [email protected][###], Joel L, Hull, 07519379638 - and found out hes been flagged on this site. He wanted me to pay the full amount via PayPal or do a 10% bank transfer first before sendin the phone, then pay the rest when it arrived. Really glad to have found this website, it saved me from getting scammed.

The best thing to do is get in touch with your local MP and ask them to push ActionFraud to take it seriously. I’ve already done this myself. Imagine if you attacked someone and they had a photo of you, plus your full name and address, the police would be knocking on your door in no time. So why is it that all that info isn’t enough when it comes to a fraud case? Feels a bit unfair, doesn’t it?

I arranged to meet with him and even told Hull police where and when it was happening, but they weren’t interested, said they were too stretched to get involved. Honestly, I probably should’ve trusted my gut and gone ahead with it - might've felt better in the end. Just got me thinking though, would anyone take the time from their busy day to use his bank details, like setting up standing orders or making payments? Even if there’s no money, the bank might hit him with fees and cause some hassle - not saying anyone should or would do this, just something crossing my mind!

I'd honestly recommend folks report him for claiming benefits as there's no way he's not employed. I'll share what info I've got. +4475193 379638, this number got back to me about an item I was selling on Gumtree. After looking it up here, I went ahead and blocked it. Looks like there’s a Myspace page linked to it, showing Hull as their location. If they keep contacting me by email, I’m gonna have to report it to Merseyside Police. I’ve had loads of dodgy "people" (trying to be polite here) messing about on Gumtree, so now I always double-check before doing anything. Big thanks to this site and others like it.
