Got a text from this number saying they tried to deliver a parcel to me today, with what looked like a Royal Mail tracking link. Thought it was legit, but when I checked the official Royal Mail site, there was no record of that tracking number. Had another look at the link they sent and it turned out to be some dodgy offer about a free iPad or phone, but then they ask for a £1 delivery fee. Total scam, just ignore and delete it. So annoying!

Got a text from some random number saying I owed Royal Mail £1.09 for postage. Definitely a scam - real Royal Mail messages always show up with their proper name, never just a weird mobile number. Don’t fall for it!

Definitely a scam - pretending to be Royal Mail, asking for £1.09 just like other calls I've had. They mentioned some ‘form45’ for a redelivery but I’m not waiting on anything and I don’t recall ever giving Royal Mail my number. Like someone else said, don’t Royal Mail usually just leave a card through the letterbox? Seems dodgy to me.

Got a text asking for £1.09, was a bit amusing at first. I started filling out the form, right up until it asked for my credit card details. Been through enough delivery hassles during the pandemic to know the drill - couriers drive up, knock on your door instead of using the buzzer at the block of flats, then leg it in under a minute. Sometimes they just hang around in their van watching the door and then text saying they couldn’t find me. Honestly, it really annoyed me thinking they might have the nerve to charge me extra for trying again.

This really seems like a scam to me, the charge was always the same, £1.09, and the link looked suspicious, something like mail-redelivery113[###]. What's strange is that I did have a parcel on the way from the US (USPS), but it’s stuck at a Royal Mail hub. Makes me wonder if someone with access to shipping details might be pulling a stunt here (the parcel was from an Etsy order). I’d already paid over £50 for shipping upfront, so this small fee made no sense at all.
