I received a text that appeared to be from the NHS, claiming I had been in contact with someone who tested positive for Omicron and that I needed to arrange for a PCR test. As I'm not originally from this country, the fact they mentioned a shipping fee (not for the test itself) didn't raise any immediate alarms for me. The website seemed quite credible at first glance. However, after discussing it with my flatmate, they pointed out that the NHS doesn't charge for such services! I swiftly cancelled my card and reported the incident as a possible scam. I feel rather embarrassed for being duped, but I’m relieved that I managed to stop everything before it got worse.
