Got a text saying I have to buy a PCR test kit from them because I was near someone isolating with covid. I haven't even left my house. Total scam. If you really need a test kit, you get it through a government website, not from random texts like this. Don’t fall for this trick, they’re just trying to steal your cash.

So I got a text off some random number asking who I was. We messaged back and forth for a while but I decided to look the number up and didn’t like what I found. So I just deleted all the messages and blocked the number. Then they messaged saying I’d called them 54 minutes ago, except I was fast asleep at that time, so no idea where they got that from.

Early this morning, my mum got a message like this. She’s been stuck at home since last September and hasn’t been on the track and trace system anymore, so I doubted it was genuine straight away. The text said something along the lines of, "NHS: You were near someone with Omicron. Order a free PCR test here: https://mypcr-test.com" If you see a message from +447519328609 like this, just ignore it. It’s definitely a scam. I don’t get what they’re trying to do apart from scare folks unnecessarily.
