Proper posh bloke on the phone, but he kept messing up my name. When he said who he was, it just went dead quiet on his end, I only caught “I’m calling from citizens ______.” Asked him again and same thing, just silence. Thought it was some dodgy scam trying to pass off as CAB, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from 07518 587791 about some secured/unsecured debt. I told them I don’t owe anything but explained I’m currently dealing with identity theft and fraud, which hasn’t been resolved yet. They claimed they had 20,000 folks in their system with debts and were ringing them all. When I asked if I was on their list because of debt and that I’d have to call the police if so, the guy said he wasn’t sure. I just hung up after that.

I told him the CAB wouldn’t ring you up without you reaching out first, and usually anyone you owe money to sends letters first. He insisted they had. Got a call from a guy with a Nigerian accent claiming he was calling from some CAB about my supposed unsecured debts. I told him I don’t owe anything and that CAB doesn’t cold call people. He chuckled and insisted they do, saying his name was Robbie and I could verify it. Didn’t buy it, so he repeated his name and added Williams as a surname. I just laughed, saying “Oh right, like the singer!” What a muppet. Told him I’m not daft and then ended the call. Number’s been blocked now.

I’m always shocked at how they manage to get hold of my number. Seems like I end up with even more calls after sorting something like insurance. These days, I don’t hand out my landline anymore, it’s much simpler to block them on my mobile instead.

Some bloke with an Indian or Pakistani accent rang up askin’ for me by name. I reckon they must’ve got my details from Gumtree or summat, though I can’t really prove it. He said he was with the Citizens Advice, but missed out the ‘Bureau’ bit, spouting some rubbish about debts. I just said, “Yeah, right, gotta go!” and put the phone down. Sometimes I’m tempted to tell ’em to buzz off properly, but then they just keep ringing back over and over!

Got a call from an Asian bloke calling himself Kevin who said he’d got my info from some Debt Resolution Team and claimed I owed money on credit cards. When I asked about the debt amount, he said it was £2000. I told him that’s impossible since I don’t own any credit cards. Then I asked for the phone number of the “agency” that supposedly gave him my details and he said “hold on a sec” and just hung up!

I was feeling quite cheeky after getting loads of calls from this number about slashing my debt by half. I played along a bit, sounded like I was interested, then when he asked how much I owed, I said £20! Then he asked if I used Facebook, I told him no, then he joked about what planet I was from, and asked how old I was. I said 82, even though I’m not. He got proper annoyed with me and ended the call. The chat went on way longer than just this, honestly.

I got a call from someone called "Robbie" saying he was from Citizens Advice Bureau about some "debt" I supposedly owed and a "new" Government Scheme called Individual Voluntary Agreements to help me out. He looked taken aback when I told him IVA's have been around ages. He asked if I had any debt and I just said, well, you tell me. Then I asked which CAB office and he said Manchester. When I asked for his full name to ring Manchester CAB and check, he asked if I was a lawyer or something. Then he just hung up! What a muppet!

Sounded too good to be true. Let him go on for a bit, then asked which company I owed money to and how much. He suddenly asked if I even had any debt at all. Told him he supposedly had my details, called him out for lying and said I'd report him and his fake firm. Of course, he hung up straight away. Typical!

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Asian, his English was pretty poor. He started talking about debts I supposedly owe, but I don’t owe anything at all. I told him to bugger off nicely, but he came back at me with some of the rudest insults I’ve heard in ages. Bit worried really, since he knew my full name.

They rang me but I couldn’t make out what the salesman was saying, so I said “Sorry, I can’t hear you,” and then the line just went dead.

I got a call from an Asian lady offering some kind of debt reduction plan for my creditors. When I told her I thought it sounded dodgy, she just hung up straight away.

This number rang me yesterday, and the person sounded Asian. He was really rude, telling me I owe money. When I told him I don’t have any debts, he actually asked why I appear on his list then! The same guy has called a few times before, and blocking the number doesn’t stop him - he just uses a different one to call back. Properly annoying.

I got a call supposedly from Citizens Advice in Manchester who claimed I owe some kind of debt, but the bloke wouldn’t give his name and just kept reading off a script. When I said I was under the TPP, he just cut me off and hung up. I’ve since blocked the number.

I could hardly make out what they said, there was loads of noise like they were sitting in a hectic call centre. Their English was really poor too. They kept insisting I owed some money - obviously just a dodgy scam.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming he was from CAB, saying I owed some money. I told him I don’t have any debts and then he just ended the call. I’m really curious how he got hold of my details. Judging by all the other messages here, this sounds like something that should be reported to the authorities. The number he rang from was a mobile: 07518 587791.

Somebody said they were from the CAB but their English was really bad, kept pushing some dodgy Manchester address and trying to get me signed up for an IVA. I just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from these lot, they asked for my name, and when I told them, they just chuckled and ended the call right away. Definite scam, just block them straight away.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from a debt company in Wolverhampton. He said they had some documents about debts I'm supposed to owe. I just laughed and asked if he was serious. Then he just cut me off. Total scam since I don't owe a penny to anyone.

A guy with an Asian accent called and actually knew my name, but I didn't catch his name. When I asked him where he got my number from, he just told me to shove it. Ended up blocking him and reporting to the TPS.

Got a call from some lot claiming to be CAB about my debts. Me: Who am I speaking to please? Asian bloke: Sorry, I can’t say. Me: Well, can you pass me onto your supervisor then? He just goes quiet and ends the call. Proper fed up with these muppets constantly ringing me.

Got a call about some supposed debt and when I said I wasn’t interested in applying for anything, the bloke just told me to “f*** off” and ended the call. Absolutely charming! Definitely a con, no doubt about it!
