Got a text from someone claiming to be Emma saying she’s in hospital after a fall and has been trying to get in touch. She asked me to reply but I just ignored it since I don’t know anyone by that name. Sounds dodgy to me.

Got a message from someone called Emma saying she’d been ringing but her signal was rubbish. She said she’d fallen today and was at the hospital now. Asked me to text her back because she needed a favour. Thing is, no missed calls showed up and I don’t know any Emma, so I’m really glad I looked into it before replying.

I got a call from someone saying they were Emma, caught up in some accident and stuck in hospital, asking for a top-up voucher code for her phone. Thought it sounded a bit off, especially since my missus tried calling Emma and she never picked up. Glad I looked this site up before handing over any info!! Total SCAM!!

my manager’s name is emma, but this emma who messaged me had actually fallen and needed an operation. luckily, i hadn’t brought my phone with me to work that day, so i saw her earlier before i even read the text. guess i dodged some confusion there.

Got a call from 07517349551 saying it was Emma, my niece, asking for a £20 top up code 'cause she'd had a fall and was in hospital. Something felt off, so I didn't send anything. Ended up reporting the number to the cops. Proper nasty scammers trying it on.

Got a message from someone saying it’s Emma. She said she fell earlier today, broke some bones, and now she’s hospitalised and waiting for surgery. She asked if I could text her back when I see it. Quite worrying, but I don’t know if it’s really her.

Just got a message from someone claiming to be Sarah, asking if I was free and saying she’d fallen down stairs and was in hospital. Then she asked for help or something. Totally a scam, don’t trust it.

Following up on what I said earlier, I got a message about Sarah from the number +447802000332, which is apparently a message centre. From what I’ve found, some folks think it belongs to 02, but loads more reckon it’s connected to quite a few nasty scams. Might be worth looking into this number yourself.

It's the exact same message every time, can't believe they still get away with it! With all the tech these days, you'd think someone would have put a stop to it by now.

Got a text from someone named Sarah claiming she’d broken her fibula and left wrist. Coincidentally, my wife’s also called Sarah and she’s 20 weeks pregnant at the moment. Turns out it was all a scam, my actual wife is perfectly fine. That message really scared me for a moment. What a dodgy trick from some scammer!

My mum and dad, who are both in their eighties, got one of these calls and got a bit worried, so they rang me up. Thankfully, I’d come across this scam before and was able to tell them not to stress.

Got a text saying they’d snapped their tibia and fibula, asking if I could send over a £20 O2 voucher code. I dunno why, but I actually believed it at first since we know a Sarah, bit daft really.

Got a text off someone called Sarah asking for a phone voucher. Got me proper baffled since my lad had been giving out invites and I'd been getting loads of messages from random numbers. Didn’t know who Helen was but ended up replying a couple of times by mistake! So annoying.

I got one just like that recently. Luckily, no Sarah saved in my contacts, so I knew right away it was a scam. It's so frustrating that nothing seems to be done to stop these calls!

I actually fell for this one myself. They said their leg and wrist were broken after a fall, which seemed believable. I have a mate named Sarah, so it didn’t raise any alarms initially. I topped up their phone with £20 and sent over the code, thinking maybe her phone was busted after the accident since it was off when I called. Turns out, Sarah was perfectly alright after all. I ended up reporting it to Action Fraud just so there’s a record. Saw someone mentioning a bloke from Birmingham, might be connected somehow.
