I received a message stating that my debit card had been blocked. Instead of calling back the number provided, I decided to call my bank directly using their official telephone number. To my relief, the bank informed me that my debit card was not blocked at all. It is important to be cautious, as this message is likely a scam, along with the provided phone number.

I received a nocturnal phone call with attempts to intimidate me into responding. Please refrain from messaging "Y" or "N" as it is a fraudulent scheme aiming to gain access to your account.

I received two text messages from a number which claimed to be my bank. The messages included details of three transactions, and stated that one of them had been blocked. Interestingly, the transaction they mentioned as being blocked was a small amount supposedly made in the US. A few days ago, I was at a restaurant in the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin and didn't have any cash on me. I asked the cashier for a receipt, but she seemed confused, so I told her it didn't matter as I was in a hurry. I can't help but wonder if these events are connected somehow. It's worth noting that one of the transactions listed matches the one from my visit to the Mater Private. I chose not to respond to the text messages as I thought that providing any confirmation might be useful to the sender.

After receiving an identical message, I contacted my bank using an alternate phone number. It turns out that there has been an unauthorized transaction on my account. Rest assured, the number I dialed was indeed a legitimate Natwest contact.

Got a legit Natwest text, but didn’t wanna reply to it so I called their fraud dept straight from their official site. They told me someone tried using my card in Japan for 9p. Seems like these scammers test with tiny amounts first, and if it works, they’ll attempt bigger charges later on.

Received a message saying it was from Nat West. The text said someone in India was trying to use my card at a cash machine and asked me to reply Y or N if it was me. I replied N and then got a confirmation from Nat West saying my card had been blocked. I phoned Nat West this morning using the number on their official site and they confirmed there was indeed a fraud attempt from India and that they’d blocked my card. So this one was legit.

They’ve been ringing my landline and both my mobiles, one of which I only recently got. Only the O2 team and a few close mates know that new number. They sent me a message saying my card was frozen and that PayPal’s blocked it too. Feels like someone who’s in the loop leaked my details. I’m now reaching out to the fraud dept to sort this out.

I called the NatWest fraud department, and it’s definitely a scam. The number itself looks real, but NatWest told me they don’t send messages from that one - they only use an 0345 number.

I got a text about some card payments, including a cash machine withdrawal at the branch the day before. Since I don't do online or phone banking, the only way anyone could know about these transactions is if it came directly from the Bank or if there was some kind of security leak at RBS, which seems pretty unlikely. I replied “Y” but it didn’t really put me at much risk, just confirmed that the mobile number was connected to me through those transactions - something the sender of the text probably already knew anyway.

NatWest and RBS are basically the same bank. If they’re sending you emails with transaction figures, it’s usually genuine. But if the scammers have got access to numbers like that, your account might already be hacked.

Got a text at 1:36am saying it was from NatWest, telling me I'd be getting a call about debit card payments and that my card was blocked. I called NatWest fraud dept using the number on their official website, and they confirmed they had tried to contact me, so it was legit. They checked a few recent payments I'd made, which were all right, and said my card was unblocked now. It was all automated. So it was genuine but always best to ring the bank on a known safe number and use common sense with security!

I received a text asking me to confirm some activity on my bank account, just a simple Y or N reply. At first, I figured it was just another scam trick. So instead of replying or deleting it straight away, I rang NatWest’s Fraud Department from my home phone. Turns out, it was legit. They do send texts from a mobile if you’ve signed up with a mobile number, but for landlines, they contact you from an 0800 number. It’s always wise to double-check these messages.

I received a message requesting me to verify whether I executed specific transactions. I was instructed to reply with Y or N to confirm. Most of the transactions were accurate, except for one related to a hotel in the United States. To ensure the authenticity of the message, I attempted to contact them from a different phone number. However, they were unavailable as the line was busy. Fortunately, I have very little money to be stolen. I am quite low on funds, so it will be quite disheartening for whoever is attempting to hack into my bank account. It's actually quite funny!
