I got a couple of texts from this number claiming to be my bank. They mentioned three separate transactions and said one was stopped. The blocked transaction was a small charge supposedly from somewhere in the US. Just a few days ago, I was at the Mater Private Hospital’s restaurant in Dublin and didn’t have any cash on me. When I asked for a receipt, the cashier just stared at me, so I didn’t push it since I was in a rush. Now I'm wondering if this is all connected. The hospital charge is actually one of the transactions they listed. I didn't bother replying to the messages because I figured confirming anything might just help them out.

Got a text at 1:36am saying it was from NatWest, telling me I'd be getting a call about debit card payments and that my card was blocked. I called NatWest fraud dept using the number on their official website, and they confirmed they had tried to contact me, so it was legit. They checked a few recent payments I'd made, which were all right, and said my card was unblocked now. It was all automated. So it was genuine but always best to ring the bank on a known safe number and use common sense with security!
