Got a call today about PPI, they claimed to be from the government’s PPI scheme. When I asked who was handling my refund, they said Gladstone Brooks. I told them Gladstone Brooks aren’t the ones giving PPI refunds and you can’t actually claim through them, then they ended the call fast.

Somebody named "Amy" from UK Licensing rang me to check in, which was pretty nice, but when I asked what they were offering, they just cut the call. This number kept ringing me about every hour all day long. I finally picked up since it was a mobile and I thought it might be someone I know or something important. Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent. He asked for me by my first name but my missus picked up. He said we had some sort of unsecured debt recorded against us. My wife was like, hang on, we’ve got no debts, no loans, no mortgage. We paid all that off ages ago, over 20 years now and always buy things cash. Next thing, he just ends the call. This number’s not in any directory and the tips say it’s registered, so how the hell did they find it? Total scam attempt.

I stupidly answered a call from some fake debt company on this mobile number. The voice message told me to press 1 to stop all future calls. DON’T do it! Just block the number. If you press 1, you’re basically telling them your number’s active and they’ll keep bugging you using other numbers. When will our useless government, regulators, or police actually do something about these muppets?

The lady on the phone claimed to be from the Unsecured Debt Team but wouldn’t specify which company she was representing. She insisted the team worked for the FCA. I pushed back, asking if they were officially registered with the FCA and requested their registration number since they said they were acting on behalf of the FCA. She said they were located in Manchester, but when I asked for a physical address, she just ended the call.

Some bloke called saying I owed money to some bank. When I asked which one, he said the one I had debt with. I told him I use TSB (which I’ve never had an account with) and he agreed! Then he asked for my full card number to “verify”. Yeah, no chance I was giving that out!

Got a really rude person on the phone who claimed I’d okayed them to call under some GDPR thingy on Monday - but I was abroad then, so no way. I got a call telling me I owed money, but as soon as I said I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service, the caller got really rude. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they gave me fake contact details. Then they rang me back, being really pushy and aggressive. I've reported the whole thing to the police so they can keep a record of this scam. Planning to ring Action Fraud on 0300 1232040 since they handle national fraud stuff. Also made sure to block that number now.

Weirdly enough, he almost got my name right :))) I told him I wasn’t sure where he got that from and that I always keep an eye on my card spending. Then he just hung up on me. Somebody rang me up saying it was about an unpaid debt in my name. They even got my last name right 😡 When I asked them what it was all about, they just ended the call on me.
