Somebody rang me up pretending to be from HMRC and said I’m being sued for tax fraud. Since when does the UK government talk like they’re from the US? Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Got a message on my voicemail telling me to call back straight away. I’ve not returned it since the number is unfamiliar. Luckily, I decided to look it up here before doing anything.

Got a call off some bloke named Robin DeSouza who claimed I’m under investigation for dodging taxes. He even tossed me a case number for “proof”. Said they’d sent me a couple of letters already and this was my last chance before they’d come after me with a warrant. Every time I asked what I was meant to have done, he just ignored me and then suddenly hung up. I’ve blocked that number now. What a total creep!

Got a voicemail from this number with some posh bloke saying I’m under investigation for dodging taxes and should ring back. Before that, there was a recorded message too. Yeah, as if I’m gonna call them!

This was clearly just another con, and I can see how someone a bit anxious or not paying full attention might fall for it. The person on the line spoke really clearly, not like the typical foreign accents you usually get with these calls. Honestly, it’s about time they cracked down on these scams and shut every one of them off.

Got a call earlier with this awful robotic voice saying I was in trouble for dodging tax. Honestly, I’m surprised HMRC would just leave a dodgy voicemail for something that serious. It’s pretty daft when you think about it. Still, I can see how someone not paying attention might get worried and fall for it.

Got a voicemail saying I'm facing arrest over unpaid taxes unless I ring this number back. Sounded dodgy to me, classic scam trying to scare you into calling. Probably catches a few folks out though, so best to just chuck it on the block list.

I got a call from this number saying I was gonna get hit with a tax evasion charge from HMRC. They asked me to ring them back to verify my info.

Got a recorded call threatening me, saying it was HMRC. Totally a con job. How come these scammers aren’t shut down? The authorities should be shutting these lines off and going after these crooks since it’s obviously illegal.
