I've experienced a similar issue with my billing. Just to highlight, I was billed by 3 for three separate calls at a cost of £1 each, and these charges did not come from my free minutes allowance. Quite frustrating!

Got this email today, 22/10/2015: Hi, I’m Sasha Dixon. I tried ringing earlier and left a voicemail but haven’t heard back. My family owns about 10 properties in the UK and we’re interested in having someone manage our portfolio. We’re also planning to buy more properties soon. Could you call me to chat on 07093090369? Thanks, Sasha Dixon Found it strange because our answering service didn’t show any missed calls. Plus, when you phone the number, it goes straight to one of those “your call is important to us” automated messages. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I tried ringing this number but all I got was an annoying recorded message followed by some instrumental music - no one ever picks up! Seems rather suspect to me, definitely feels like a scam. The number in question is 070 9309 0352.

Hey everyone, Just got this message about an interview invite from someone named Simon Keith, saying I need to see Jenny Wilson for a 30-minute chat. They asked for references and ID like passport or driving licence. The weird bit? They want me to call 07093090349 to sort out the details. Feels like a scam, especially as ringing that number might charge you. Has anyone got any tips on who to report this to or what I should do? Cheers!

Just like many others, I double-checked the email thoroughly and make it a habit to look up any phone number I get, which is actually how I found this website. Big thanks to everyone sharing their experiences here. It’s a good rule of thumb to be wary of job offers that don’t mention a specific company, have a weird phone number that doesn’t match any location, and use a generic email. Wishing all the folks searching for work the best of luck!

I received a message just like a few others here. It struck me as odd because it didn’t mention any company name or what job the interview was for. So, I looked it up on this site first. Honestly, I’m really pleased I did.

Loads of folks have already said it on here, but this is definitely a con. I've told Phonepayplus, the folks who handle premium rate number complaints, about it myself. If you’ve called this number and got stung with a charge, you really ought to report it to Phonepayplus too. The more complaints they get, the faster they’ll sort it out, stopping these scoundrels from tricking others - especially those struggling with money or looking for work.

I got an email from this Simon Keith bloke too. I really want to catch the sod behind this scam. I wonder what Cameron and his lot are doing to deal with this mess?

I reckon they grab your email from those job boards where folks upload their cvs along with their email addresses.

I've just received an interview invite myself! What's worse is this came about because my 16-year-old kid applied for apprenticeships through a government programme. She was absolutely gutted about the whole thing, and to top it off, she even had to cough up money just to apply!

I got an email from them saying they wanted to interview me and told me to ring back on 07093090399 to sort out when. I tried ringing three times but no one picked up, and I even sent an email too. Each call cost me 45p from my phone company despite no answer. I’m out of work at the moment, so that’s a real sting. This number’s just a scam to nick money off folks looking for jobs. Honestly, what a disgusting way to make a quick quid. Their folks must be mortified knowing their kids turned into no-good con artists.

Got an email from some Simon Keith about an interview with someone called Jenny. Dumb me ended up ringing the number 7 times but each call barely lasted a minute or even just a few seconds. Total scam, avoid these muppets at all costs!!!

Got the exact same message last year and thought it was legit, so I replied. Turned out it was a total scam and ended up draining money from my phone credit. Seriously, don’t get involved or contact them. It’s definitely a con!

Fraudulent e-mail alert: Dear recipient, following your recent application, I am pleased to extend an invitation for an interview. You’ll be meeting with the department head, Jenny Wilson, and the session is expected to last around half an hour. Kindly bring along three references, if you have them, and a form of identification such as your passport or driving licence. To schedule this interview, please reach me at 07093090399 and ask for Simon Keith. We anticipate your attendance. Best regards, Simon Keith This is the second email I’ve received from them-once today and once last year. I responded last time, only to receive an automated reply from some recruitment service stating that there were no staff available. To make matters worse, I found that my mobile had no credit, even though I’d just topped it up earlier! It’s clearly a scam-DO NOT ENGAGE with them. - Suspicious callers: "Simon Keith & Julie Wilson"

Got a weird email out of the blue from a gmail account offering a job interview. Didn’t ask for anything like that at all. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a dodgy message from this number just now - I reckon they must’ve nicked my email from some job board or temp agency that uses them. Seriously, no proper agency would ever contact you from a gmail address...

Got an email about a job from Keith Simon, even tho I wasn’t actually searching for one. The message told me to ring that number, but I just sent a text instead. Never got any answer back. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

I got an email out of the blue, even though I’m not looking for work, so no idea where they got my email from. Haven't dialed the number, so really happy I looked it up first.

I got that email too and since I was looking for work, I gave the number a ring. After waiting on hold for ages, I hung up. Tried calling a few more times but something felt off. Had a look online and found out the number goes to some expensive premium line. So I reached out to BT today and luckily got my money back.

Got an email about a job interview the other day, telling me to ring a certain number. Thought it was legit so I rang it, but it was just some dodgy recorded message from a so-called "recruitment agency". Costs me 0.0981 per minute on my phone bill! I’m not sure if this agency is even real or just a way to make quick money. My advice? Don’t bother calling. If they're serious about interviewing you, they’ll ring you first!

TAKE CARE - THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. THESE 070 NUMBERS ARE PREMIUM, SO CALLING THEM WILL RID YOU OF YOUR CASH. NO JOB EXISTS, SO DONT CALL BACK. SCAM ALERT! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I got a call like that right after sending my CV through CVLibrary[###]. It seemed like a scam to me since they didn’t say anything about the role or company. Guess it might be a hack or something, but I didn’t even bother answering.

Got an email about a job interview out of the blue, but I never actually applied for anything like that. The reply number was an 070, which would’ve charged me around £15 a minute to ring back! Not sure how they tracked down my email either, since I haven’t looked for a job in over seven years. I shot back a quick email, wrote it in my rough Aberdeenshire accent and slipped in some cheeky insults for good measure. 10/08/2015

Totally a scam, be careful! Numbers starting with 070 usually mean a premium charge and will end up costing you loads of money. Best not to ring it at all.

I had a phone interview scheduled, but they never got back to me. Kind of frustrating waiting around hoping to hear something!
