i recently applied for a position and got an email that seemed to be a copy of what everyone else received from someone called simon keith (Jobrecruts0077 @gmail###). looks like they grab your email from job websites or stuff like that. the phone number was some dodgy premium one as well.

Got an email like this today, but I havent applied anywhere lately. A few red flags jump out - the name Keith is spelt wrong at the end, it wasnt properly addressed to me, plus there were no specifics about the job or company. Definitely seems off.

This is definitely a scam, like loads of others have said here before. I’ve already told the regulator for premium rate numbers - phonepayplus. If anyone else has called and got charged, you should really report it to phonepayplus as well. The more reports they get, the faster they can shut it down and stop these scummy people from taking advantage of others, especially those who might be struggling for money while looking for work.

I got the exact same message yesterday as well - I called back, sent an email saying I’d try again today. Rang again today but no answer, left a message asking when would be a good time to call back. Weird thing is, I’ve also been applying to jobs using the same gmail address.

I got a call like that too, funny enough I just applied for a job in Asia yesterday. Could they have found my email on LinkedIn? A mate tagged me in a job post, so I guess they just checked my profile for my contact details. Bloody annoying!

Job fraud for sure, Ive had the same experience as others here. I reckon the phone number is just a front for a premium rate line. It's really tough for people trying to find a job. But when you see no details about who Simon or Jenny really are, and the email is just from a gmail instead of a proper business address, plus no info on the company they supposedly represent, it's obvious they're up to no good. Don’t bother returning the call. Just bin it straight away.

Bit annoying coz I’ve been applying for jobs lately and they can’t even bother with the basics. This happened to me last time I was hunting for work, too.
