I don’t even have an account with Macquarie and the bank wouldn’t reach out like this. Definitely a scam.

I just received a text from 698666 saying that some new gadget was set up on my account, and if I hadn’t done it, I should ring +61390154966. Sounds dodgy to me, probably a scam.

Got a message from "MACQUARIE" saying a device was registered on 09/12, but I’ve never dealt with them before. The text asked me to ring +61390154966 if it wasn’t me, with a reference XX9981. Bit suspicious, really.

Got a message saying: “NAB: On 07/12, a new device got added to your account. If this wasn’t you, ring our automated service at +61390154966 to protect your money.” When I dialled the number, it was just a pre-recorded message about “Lost and stolen cards” telling me to wait. Pretty sure it’s a scam!

Total scam. I received this message from +61 46605:

ANZ: A new device was registered successfully on 07/12. If this wasn't you, please contact our automatic service to protect your money on +61390154966.

But I don’t have an account with ANZ at all.

I got a voicemail saying that if I don’t ring them back, they’ll be at my door to arrest me. Apparently, there’s a warrant for me about some extortion thing. Honestly, it sounds so ridiculous, like WOW, just wow.

Got a call with a recording in an American accent saying I'd be arrested if I don’t answer. Sounded fishy to me!

Total scam. I got a voicemail threatening me with arrest if I didn’t ring them back. Out of curiosity I called them. They wanted all my personal info, so I asked who they even were and suddenly they just hung up. Blocked straight away.

Just got a call from someone saying I’m involved in a case or something, and if I don’t call back there’s a warrant out for my arrest! Proper stressful but I’m sure it’s a dodgy call.
