03459410041 keeps ringing early morning about 8 to 9 am. We have this rule where if we pick up and no one talks within 3 seconds, we just put the phone down, even if they been sayin something happen.

Got a call from someone saying they were from SKY TV, saying our Sky Box needed updating. The account is actually in my dad’s name but they asked to speak to me instead. They knew my address and tried to get me to confirm my dad’s date of birth. I told them straight up I wasn’t giving out any info and that they could send a letter if they needed to. They just hung up. It’s awful that these people can just call and hassle you like that. I shudder to think what my dad might have said if he’d picked up.

Someone said they were from BT offering to lower my bill by 30% and upgrade my router. I got a bit wary when they already had my sort code and the first four numbers of my bank card. Had a similar situation where I pretended to go along and fed her fake bank info, which really annoyed her. What freaked me out was the call kicking off with a recorded message about how to use your sky remote for the telly, and the details were spot on. Towards the end she asked, “are you messing about?” I shot back, “actually, I reckon you’re the one having a laugh, I’m pretty sure you’re not with Sky.” That’s when she told me to “get lost” and hung up. This is the third occasion these scam artists have attempted to reach me, aiming to steal my info and cash. Got a call from a woman saying she was from Sky, telling me they’d be swapping out my Sky box. She mentioned an engineer would come on Wednesday but gave me my old address. They’ve rang me three times now, saying Sky’s gonna upgrade my box for nothing and cut my bill. The guy said he’d handle everything, just told me to stop my direct debit and give him my bank info to sort it out. The moment I said I wasn’t sharing that info on the phone, he just hung up. Total scam, don’t fall for it even if they seem to know your address and stuff. Honestly, when has Sky ever given free upgrades and discounts without you asking first? Very fishy.

This number rang me up today, and the woman on the other end had all my details - name, address and postcode - and told me my sky box was getting an upgrade. I said that’s odd because I’m not having any issues. She went on to say they were just upgrading them and someone would be coming to my place tomorrow. I told her she’s trying to pull a scam since she’s not really from sky. She said she was, but when I pointed out I haven’t had sky TV for ages, she stammered and quickly said sorry before hanging up.

I work at Virgin Media and I've actually had one of these calls myself. It’s definitely a scam claiming a free box install. Best thing is to dodge it and keep reporting these numbers on Who-Called. If it gets too much, get in touch with your phone company and block the caller. No legit free offer should ever ask for your bank info, it’s a big red flag if they do. Just use your common sense :)

I told them I was fine with my current Sky and didn’t want anything new. Then he said my old Sky would be disconnected in a week. He knew my address, which I confirmed, but when he asked for my birthday I said no. I told him if he was really from Sky, he’d have my email and could just email me. After that, he just hung up.

When I contacted Sky customer service, they said it’s a scam and they get about 50 calls daily from people reporting the same. Be careful and never share your info - if in doubt, just ring Sky directly.

Got a call from a Polish lady saying my sky box would stop working after 6 days, but an engineer would come on Thursday to fix it. I said yes, and then she warned me my Sky box was going to stop working within a week. At that point I’d had enough. I told her I was busy and she was annoying me, and I had to go, then I hung up. Now that I’ve told you all this number, I’m pretty sure I did the right thing.

Got a call from 03459410041, a man with an Asian accent saying I had to get my Sky box replaced because of some system updates. He mentioned an engineer would come by Wednesday morning to do the switch. He claimed twice he was with Sky but then asked for my birthday, which I refused to give. Then he just hung up on me. BE WARNED, SEEMS REALLY SUSPICIOUS.

On the first of November, this guy with an Asian accent called, claiming he was from Virgin Media and said my box needed replacing. Then he tried to get my bank info. Bit odd since they already have that, right? Took one look at this and just ended the call straight away. Something didn't feel right.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from Sky. She even had my full name, address and customer ID which worried me. The script was the usual stuff about replacing my box because it was old and having some tech problems, plus something about rewarding loyal customers. When she tried to get my bank info, I just cut the call off straightaway.

Got a call from some bloke with an accent, claiming to be from Sky. He told me I needed to upgrade my package or they’d disconnect me in a week. Sounded exactly like the usual scams people have been mentioning here. Proper annoying stuff.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian or Pakistani accent, said she was from Sky TV. She said an engineer would be coming Monday between 9 and 10 to upgrade my Sky box to the Q box for free. I got suspicious and rang Sky myself, and they said they hadn’t sent anyone or made any calls. Total scam! People like that should find real work and tell their dodgy bosses to shove it.

Yesterday morning I got a call from this bloke with an Indian accent claiming my Sky box was about to expire. I went and told him I was with Virgin by mistake. Then, not long after, he rings me back again but this time saying that my Virgin box was expiring! I couldn’t hold back and told him exactly what a dishonest tosser he was and how shameful it is to con people like that. Probably won’t make him stop his scams, but felt good to put him in his place.

my nan, she's 87, got a ring about some deal from sky. They told her 'cause she's a pensioner she could have some discount for a couple years. They asked for her bank info which was a bit sus. She thankfully didn't fall for it and gave my mum a bell instead.

I got a call from some random number but it was just silent, then they hung up straight away. If someone rings me and doesn’t bother leaving any message - not even their name - I see it as a risky call, plain and simple. Everyone I know is aware this is how I deal with calls and they don’t take offence. Any genuine caller wouldn’t mind dropping a quick message and waiting for me to get back to them, that’s just common sense in my book. So yeah, any call that’s just silence, I reckon it’s dodgy and I won’t be answering back.

This number rang me earlier but I didn't pick up. I’m with Virgin Media, and they definitely don’t ask for your bank info just to swap a box. Usually, they ask you for a password instead!

Got a call from this number claiming my Virgin Media box was broken and they’d sort a replacement plus slash my bill by half. Then they asked for my bank details to 'refund' me. When I refused, they put me through to a woman on the floor who insisted that was the only way to get the refund. Total rubbish - definitely a scam, watch out for this!

Just got a call from 0345 9410041 saying my sky box would expire tonight at 6pm. I told her I don’t even have a sky box at all. After that, she repeated it back to me and then hung up. I was kinda curious what she was gonna ask next though??

Got a phone call claiming to be from Virgin Media. They said my set-top box was about to run out and that they'd send a replacement free in a few days. They then asked for my birthday to "confirm" my info. I told them there's no chance I’d give that out, especially since I only got a new box a couple of months ago. Wasn’t going to fall for it, so I just ended the call.
