3 yearsThey called claiming to be from RBS, saying they needed to verify my direct debits. When I said I’d ring the bank on my own, they kept pushing. Eventually got quite rude after I wouldn’t share any info with them.RBS4 yearsEarlier this evening, I received a call from this number that sent my head spinning. They tried to convince me that my bank details had been hacked, claiming they were in the process of opening a new account to transfer my funds. Admittedly, I fell for it and ended up sending money to a Halifax account - what a daft move! After realising my mistake, I quickly alerted my actual bank, and thankfully, they’ve agreed to reimburse me, which is a relief. I feel compelled to share this with anyone who comes across this message: please don't make the same error I did. It’s genuinely disheartening to have been duped by what seemed to be a very convincing chap - he even shared a name and a fraud reference number with me! The call was allegedly from the Royal Bank of Scotland, who have since assured me it wasn’t them. I can't shake off this feeling of violation and disappointment in myself for falling for such a believable ruse. Stay vigilant, everyone! ❤️❤️❤️HalifaxRoyal Bank of Scotland4 yearsIt appears there’s been an individual posing as someone from the bank's fraud team, claiming there are dubious transactions linked to your account. They will urge you to transfer funds to a 'secure' place. Just a friendly word of caution - it’s best not to fall for that!4 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from the Royal Bank of Scotland, which I don’t even use. My bank recently changed my card because of fraud, so this caller said it was about transactions on that new card. I rang my bank straight away and they told me it definitely wasn’t them. Total scam!Royal Bank of Scotland4 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were RBS security, but it was definitely a scam. Watch out for that sort of thing!RBS4 yearsWhat a load of rubbish, claiming to be RBS! I made the mistake of trusting them, but luckily the police were sharp and managed to recover all the cash I lost. He said he was the managing director and in charge of fraud or something, but his English was pretty poor. He asked if I’d made a £300 purchase at Apple earlier that day. I told him no way and just ended the call. He only knew the last two digits of my account and couldn't give me my sort code cause his system was apparently offline. Total rubbish, I reckon.NigelHalifaxBank of ScotlandApple5 yearshad a call from some scammers claiming they were with the fraud team at royal bank of scotland, total fake!ScammersRoyal Bank of Scotland5 yearsI spoke to the bank regarding this number and they told me not to pick up and to report it to the police.
