03457212212 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03457212212 👆 is reported as the legitimate customer service number of the Co-operative Bank, primarily for inbound calls by customers. However, there is widespread evidence of this number being spoofed by scammers to impersonate the bank, attempting to fraudulently obtain personal and banking details. Genuine Co-op Bank calls do not typically initiate contact from this number; instead, customers are encouraged to call the bank directly using the number found on official materials. Many callers report suspicious behaviour including requests for security credentials, pressure to transfer funds, and aggressive tactics. Automated calls are sometimes used to alert about account issues but caution is advised. To avoid falling victim, never provide personal information on unsolicited calls and always verify by contacting the bank independently.

Best to ignore, looks like a scam to me.

This number really belongs to a Co-Op bank, no doubt about that. But normally, they only ring you up about your account balance. If you've had a call from this number unexpectedly, it might well be a fake or spoofed call. I'd suggest double checking directly with your actual bank to be certain everything’s fine and your accounts haven’t been compromised. Better safe than sorry!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Barclays fraud team saying there were several suspicious transactions on a mate’s account. They even knew his name and address, which made it seem legit at first. But he got suspicious when they asked for his sort code, account number, card details, and even online banking password. He didn’t give them anything and ended the call. Then he rang his bank directly and the genuine fraud department confirmed it was a scam trying to nick his info for fraud.

Apparently this is the Co-Op bank number, but today I got a call that was definitely fake. The bloke was asking for my bank info. I phoned my bank straight away and found no dodgy transactions - what’s more, when I called back it was a real person on the line. Really watch out for this cos they can sound super convincing!

Someone rang me saying they were from the co-op bank fraud dept about dodgy activity on my account. I didn’t know the number as it was slightly different from the usual co-op one - just off by a digit. I told them I’d hang up and call back on the official co-op number I know and trust. They kept pushing, insisting the number they called from was the one on the back of my card and that they were legit.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Santander fraud team (or smile/co-op, not quite sure). Was on the phone with him for over 40 minutes, nearly fooled me, but they made a few obvious mistakes. When I wouldn’t give out my info, they just hung up. Rang my bank right after and was told it’s definitely a scam. Think it started when I filled in an email that looked like it was from “royal mail” - silly me! 😬 Cancelled my card straight away so hopefully they didn’t get anything out of it, but what a pain! Somebody rang saying they were from the Co-op bank, warning me about suspicious transactions. Turns out, there actually was something fishy going on. However, they got my name wrong, which makes me think they might be involved in the scam somehow, or using stolen info, maybe from some dodgy online marketplace - I'm guessing something like Deliveroo. Got a call late at night, about 9pm. I didn’t pick up but decided to look up the number online. It showed up as some Co-op bank fraud department, but that was just because the number was off by one digit. Pretty sneaky, ‘cause if you don’t pay close attention, Google links it to Co-op bank and makes you trust it. SCAM ALERT!!! They pretended to be from CO-OP. The phone number is actually the same one on the back of the CO-OP card. Proper sneaky fraud! Watch out and dont share any of your info with them!

Received a call from someone saying they were from Coop Bank’s fraud department, they wanted my PIN and memorable name, bit dodgy if you ask me.

Said they were from the fraud department at the bank, then started talking about a standing order needing confirmation of a passcode. Do they really think I’m that gullible? I get calls from a number starting with these digits at least twice a week. I just keep blocking them.

Tried to do an online payment on a retailer’s site, everything seemed fine - logged into my account, filled in the details, and hit confirm. The payment started processing but then a message popped up saying my card was blocked and to ring this number 3457 212 212 to unblock it. I looked up the number here and most results pointed to co-op bank scams. The odd thing is there’s no zero before 3457, but it still feels sketchy. I’ll definitely call the actual business during their opening hours to sort this out.

This definitely isn’t the co-op bank. Yes, it’s their number but they told me they’d never call from this one, it’d always show as a private number if they did.

THE CO-OP BANK called us straight away after we finished a transaction. The caller ID even showed it was the Co-Op, so it seemed legit.

Got a call earlier from 0345 721 2212, some recorded message saying my Amazon Prime trial ended and they’d take £39.99 from my account. I’ve never even had Amazon Prime, so it’s definitely a scam. They even used the bank’s number to sound legit. Just a heads up, be careful and don’t fall for it!

Got a call from 0345 721 2212, an automated message asking me to verify some personal info before putting me through to an agent. Didn’t think much of it till the robot voice butchered saying "Februarararary". I just hung up straight away. Rang the Co-op afterwards and they said it wasn’t them trying to contact me.

4th August 2020. Got a call from a very polite lady claiming to be from the Cooperative Bank. She said someone had opened an account in my name and it’s being used for money laundering. Honestly, don’t speak to anyone about your bank stuff unless you ring your actual bank directly.

Beware of a scam involving phishing for bank details. A woman claiming to be from the fraud team contacted me, sounding remarkably convincing. However, when I called the Coop ten days later to inquire about our new cards, they informed me that they had no knowledge of such a request. I admit that I fell for this scam because the actual Coop had called us the week before regarding fraudulent charges on our account, making it seem connected. This incident has taught me to be more cautious in the future, even though I believed myself to be quite savvy.

03457212212 rang me claiming to be from Monzo’s fraud team, saying they’d block two payments made to Tesco insurance in Liverpool. After chatting for ages, they asked for my pin, claiming they’d issue a new one but needed the old pin first to cancel the payments. Yeah right! Who do they think they are? Absolute scumbags. I just hung up, then half an hour later, they called again but this time I phoned Monzo myself from another number.

This number popped up on my phone showing as 'Coop Bank', since it seems to be their customer service line. Just a heads up to others though, the Coop Bank doesn't actually make outgoing calls from this number - it's only for incoming calls. Scammers are aware of this and fake the number to make it look like they're calling from the bank. From what I’ve noticed, Coop Bank only rings you from a local area code, usually from your own branch. So if you get a call from this 0345 number, best to let it go unanswered.

Got a dodgy call from someone saying they were from the Co-op bank - they wanted my login info and bank details, which no real bank would ask for. They said there were some weird transactions happening on my account, but the Co-op later told me there’s nothing like that going on.

This number has rung me up thrice in as many days. Definitely a scam. The first time, it was a lady asking for me specifically. She claimed it was about my Co-op account but said there was no cause for concern. I just ended the call straight away. The next two were voicemails with robotic voices telling me to ring back urgently. I shut my Co-op account ages ago!

0345 721 2212 rang my work phone out of the blue, I picked up but there was just silence, they hung up after a bit. Then about a minute later my personal mobile showed the same number calling, which I ignored. As far as I know, I don't have this number saved or linked to me on any device!

This number called us twice and weirdly, our bill says we've been charged for the calls. Thing is, we never pick up the landline 'cos it's mostly unwanted calls. Now BT is saying they’ll charge me £5.20 each month just to block it!!! Ridiculous!

This number has called me a few times but I won’t pick up since I know my bank never phones me directly. Reading the comments here has really helped me realise this. Even if the number looks like it belongs to the Coop Bank, scammers can trick you by making it appear that way. They just reroute the call to fool you into thinking it’s legit. I’m leaving it to voicemail from now on. Stay careful out there!

This number has tried calling me a few times but I usually just let it ring out since I’m aware my bank never phones me directly. The reviews here have been pretty useful. Just because the caller ID shows the Coop Bank, doesn’t guarantee it’s actually them - scammers often spoof the number to trick you into thinking it’s legit. I’m not picking up at all. Stay careful out there!

Had a call from 03457212212 today, the woman said I’d set up two direct debits on my account just yesterday. She wanted me to combine all my accounts and then promised a new ID for my online banking. Then she asked for my card info. I just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from this number saying they were from Co-operative bank. They already knew my name, where I live, and even the last 4 digits of my account and card. They said they blocked a transaction over £1000 and that they’d send me a new card. Then they asked how much money I had in my account and what my memorable name was. Felt a bit fishy to me.

Between January and March 15th 2020, we were billed £9.44 for 10 separate calls. They are all from different numbers apart from the final four which are 03457212212. How on earth do these dodgy people manage to charge me for this? I didn't make any of those calls.

I recently received a fraudulent phone call from a number. Prior to the call, I had received texts claiming to be Booking.com bookings linked to my CoOp bank account. However, it is important to note that I do not have an account with CoOp bank. The scam was quite persuasive, but when I mentioned that I don't possess a debit card with them, they promptly ended the call.

Got a text from booking[###] saying my booking was confirmed and an email would follow shortly. About ten minutes later, this number rang me claiming to be from the Coop Bank, telling me they’d spotted a debit of around £2200. Since I shut down my Smile account ages ago, it was clearly a dodgy call. The person hung up straight away when I told them I don’t have an account with Coop Bank.

Got a call from 03457 212212 claiming to be the Co-operative Bank, telling me to press any key to go on. I didn’t bother. I looked it up on the bank’s official site and saw it was the number for reporting fraud on current accounts. It's listed on their site but when I rang, the voicemail said they were facing long delays. I thought I'd hang on, but also checked this site 'who-called', and found loads of warnings about scams from that number. Really glad I didn't interact with them. Big thanks to whoever's flagged this as a scam!

Just end the call and ring your bank yourself. They might say this is the number from the back of your card, but if you hang up and call it yourself, you’ll soon see it’s not really the bank. They’re just after your personal info. Don’t give them any of your details.
