I got a call from someone who seemed really convincing and asked for my bank details, sounded proper genuine at first. Soon after, I found I couldn’t get into my account at all. Had to ring Halifax and found out they’d tried to steal £2000 from me. Total scam, be careful!

Got a call saying my card was charged twice in Scunthorpe, but I’ve not even been in the country. Currently trying to sort it out with my actual bank. Definitely a scam.

They pretended to be from Halifax, so watch out! I almost got duped by them. They asked me to move money to an account with the name Sandra on it.

Got a call from 03457203042 claiming they were from Lloyds Bank about fraud. Complete scam, nothing to do with Lloyds at all. They act like they have loads of info on you and try to get you to confirm stuff to piece it all together. Don’t fall for it, just tell them to buzz off!

I recently received a phone call purporting to be from Halifax. The caller mentioned the final four digits of my account number and claimed that there had been a failed attempt to withdraw £300, supposedly linked to M&S. I had indeed shopped at M&S but had paid in cash, so I requested details of my last transaction on my card and its amount. The caller pretended they would arrange a refund for the £300, but I had an uneasy feeling about the entire conversation. I decided it was best to terminate the call and immediately freeze my account. Stay vigilant; there are some unscrupulous individuals out there!

I got a call from someone claiming to be my Nationwide bank, checking if I’d made a transaction in Scotland. They sounded pretty legit since they had my full name, where I live, and even the last four digits of my card. But then I thought it was dodgy because they rang me at 8 in the evening, and I know my bank shuts by 5.

Got a call today, 17/01/22, seemed proper legit cause I bank with Halifax. But then they asked me to confirm my balance, and that’s when I clocked it was dodgy. I told them no way am I saying that and then they just started threatening to close my account cause I’m “broke.” Bloomin’ scams, just avoid it!

Received a phone call from someone masquerading as a representative of my credit card firm. They had the final four digits of my Curve Card, which made their claims all the more convincing. They informed me that there had supposedly been an attempt to withdraw £250 for Argos. They pressured me to click a link sent via text, insisting they would help me cancel my card. When I requested the fraud hotline number for a callback, they provided the number 03457 404044 along with a reference for my call. Quite the dodgy operation!
