Got a call from someone claiming to be with American Express fraud team, saying there was a suspicious charge on my account. They sounded legit and even knew where I lived, which threw me off. But then they asked for a verification code sent to my phone, pretending it was to stop the fraud. Luckily, I realised this was fishy and didn't give it to them. I rang AMEX straight away using the number on my card, and they said it was definitely a scam. Now they're sorting me out with a new card. Proper sneaky trick that almost worked on me!
