Got a call from someone claiming to be HSBC about a charge on my credit card. The number they used was almost the same as HSBC’s official credit card help line. Honestly, this should be blacklisted by the phone company, it’s too close for comfort.

Someone rang me pretending to be from the fraud department, warning about dodgy activity on my account. I asked for their name and number, told them I’d call back, then they just cut off. Tried the number afterwards and it wasn’t even in service! Got caught out by something similar before, but this time I was more careful.

Scam alert! They called me and wanted some kind of secure code to verify who I am. Definitely don’t pick up if you get this kind of call!

Got a call from a woman with a gentle Welsh accent saying she was from HSBC's fraud team. She wanted me to produce a security code from my app to verify my identity. When I asked questions, she just ended the call. I checked with HSBC and they said it wasn’t them. Obviously a scam, but she sounded pretty legit.

Looks like one of those HSBC phone scams trying to trick you. They claimed there were two dodgy charges on my account, like £2000 from Apple and £1000 from ASOS or something. Had me waiting for a bit while they pretended to sort stuff out using my info, then they started asking random questions like who my first boss was. The funny bit? I don’t even bank with HSBC anymore, I switched to Nationwide ages ago. Ha ha ha!
