While attempting to complete a credit card purchase through the Argos app, I was prompted during the verification phase with a rather unusual message. It advised that if I didn't receive a text from my bank within five minutes, I should contact a number given as the Bank of Scotland's fraud team, mentioning a code labelled C5. This struck me as odd since usually, my bank sends a code to verify transactions. I decided to ring the number but thankfully hung up before I had a chance to provide any card information. Quite the peculiar experience, I must say!

there’s no question this is a halifax bank number. i had a payment fail on my online banking, so i rang this number and they sorted everything out for me.
