I got a message from Virgin Money about my remortgage coming up, so I wasn’t shocked. Still, I decided to check out the number they wanted me to ring after seeing these reviews. From what I can tell, it looks genuine since the number matches the one on Virgin Money’s official site for current customers: https://uk.virginmoney.com/contact/#mortgages-23. Plus, the same number is mentioned on my VM documents, so I don’t really understand why anyone would say it’s a scam.

I got a call from this number claiming to be Virgin Bank, and they were hassling this older lady for her card info. They even warned her that she'd start losing money from her account if she didn't hand over her details. Totally dodgy.

Today I got a call from a bloke asking if I’d done a couple of purchases on Amazon. I told him I hadn’t, and then he said he’d block my card. He also mentioned my date of birth which was a bit worrying. When he asked for my card number, I just said no. Then he told me to Google the number 03456028301 to check if it was from my bank. I did, and it led me straight to this site.

This number rang me around 5pm this evening, and I instantly felt something was off. The bloke’s voice was weird and the call kept cutting out, which set alarm bells ringing. He told me my card was used for two big phone purchases earlier that day. I kept pretending to go along with it but as soon as he started asking for my security info, I said I’d call him back and ended the call. Of course, the line went dead. Watch out, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Money’s security team. They were trying to get my date of birth but I didn’t say anything. As soon as I mentioned I’d ring the bank straight away, they just ended the call. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

This number called my husband claiming to be Virgin Money, saying there was a transaction on Amazon using his card and asking if it was him. He denied it straight away and ended the call because something felt off. They ended up ringing him about six times more. After seeing a comment here from someone else who got the same call, it’s clear to us now that it was definitely a scam.

This was definitely a spam call claiming to be from Virgin Money. They told me there were two suspicious transactions on my account and even mentioned my address and date of birth. But they got my old name wrong, which I changed a couple years ago. Then they asked for some characters from my password, which I refused to give. I said I’d rather go to my local branch myself to sort it out. He tried to pressure me by saying if I had my card handy, he could fix it right away. I told him no way and then he just hung up on me. At first, I thought the number was legit because a quick Google search made it look genuine, but when I searched more carefully, I found it was flagged as a scam before. So watch out for this one!
