Regarding the number 03456002323, I was attempting to reach Barclays Customer Support. After endless loops with automated systems, I eventually managed to speak with someone from their Fraud Team. I told them about how my Antivirus flagged this number as "Dangerous" and blocked it with a warning that said "Do not Connect." It turns out the Barclays Fraud Department already knew about the issues linked to this number and they are taking care of it. I decided to just trust their word and left it at that.

I’ve had this caller reaching out to me three times now, texting and emailing, saying I need to update my account info to prevent fraud. At first, it seemed legit, so I rang my bank directly since they already have my banking details. They said they were Barclays, but it was actually some dodgy firm called Quick Loans UK Ltd. Not on Companies House or the FCA list anywhere. They promised unsecured loans but kept charging fees upfront, and I never saw any loan money at all. Proper scam imo.

Got a call from this number claiming to be from Barclays. He said there was some suspicious activity on my account. Sounded pretty believable but he had no warmth or sympathy at all. Asked if I had much money in the account, then went on to ask about my other accounts. I told him straight up I wasn’t going to share any details. Then he started calling me names and even said he thought I was gay. I just kept questioning how he could live with himself knowing he was conning people. Right before he ended the call, he admitted he enjoyed scamming folks and was making loads from it.

That’s a BARCLAYS BANK number alright. But just because it shows up like that doesn’t mean it’s actually them - the number could be faked. Honestly, I don’t think you can ever really say a number is ‘safe’. If someone calls and suddenly asks you to do something weird or unexpected, you should definitely be cautious.

Absolutely a total con. They siphoned funds from my savings account into my current one, and whilst I was on the line with them, they attempted to shift money over to another account of mine at Lloyd's, claiming it was a precaution against fraud.
