I ended my contract with VirginMedia yesterday for TV, broadband, landline and mobile after being a customer for what feels like forever, even from the Blueyonder era. Seeing that this number is linked to Virgin is no surprise. But honestly, the service these last 9 months has been shockingly bad. Whenever I needed help, getting through to someone on the phone meant waiting 45 minutes to an hour. I had to cancel because the service just wasn’t up to scratch anymore.

I rang Virgin Media a few days back seein if I could get a better deal. They only offered £12 off which wasn't great so I ended up cancelling. Then today this number calls me and now we’re paying way less than half of what they were offering before. Bit annoyed to be honest!

I just tried to cancel my Virgin Media and ended up getting a way better deal on my package and more channels. It looks like you kinda have to go through the cancelling stage to qualify for the new customer discounts. Definitely worth giving them a ring and having a chat.

Had Virgin Media for about a year, but ended up cancelling just a few days ago 'cos my contract was set to double. Now they keep ringing me with some “great new offer” but first they said there was nothing they could do. Bit rich that suddenly they’re willing to sort me a deal now. Still, I’m done with them. They’re all talk, I’m off to a different provider. Bye!

I didn’t pick up but had a look at the reviews on here. Sounds like it was Virgin Media, because I just ended a long contract with them recently. Their customer service was awful - sometimes rude and even a bit aggressive. I got charged too much, and although they did refund me after I complained, they never said sorry. Plus, one of their reps lied about my bill not going up if I rolled the contract over.

0345 454 1098 is clearly Virgin Media. They’ve rung me up a few times already, so on this last call I actually answered and told them exactly why I’ve switched providers. When I first tried to cancel, they wouldn’t give me any better deal, but now all of a sudden they’re offering me something better? Bit suspicious if you ask me. I’ve had enough of their messing about and I’m sticking with my new provider no matter what. Take note, VM: CityFibre Vodafone are giving me the same package for over half the price every month!

Got a silent call, no one spoke on either end so I just ended the call. From what folks are saying here, I reckon it was Virgin Broadband, since I cancelled their package not long ago. Dunno why they're bothering trying to talk me round, especially after they sent an email confirming my cancellation. I already told their rep that even if they threw me a £0 deal per month, I’m not interested - they’ve been hiking the fees year after year but still roll out fancy offers for newbies.

I was a bit slow and they hung up on me. If it was Virgin, it’s prob cause I told them I was quitting yesterday. They never explained why they charged me and I even gave them a chance to offer a better deal but they never replied. Ended up finding something way better for less than half what they wanted.

Got a call from Jackie on 03454541098 claiming to be from Virgin Retention Team. She seemed to know we’d been with Virgin for about 4 years and mentioned my contract ending soon. She offered to drop our plan from £39 to £26 a month. Makes me wonder if she was actually really from Virgin Mobile or not?

Virgin Media - I ended my contract yesterday and now they keep ringing me, trying to persuade me to stay. The reason I left is because my bill jumped from £40 to £65 for a really basic deal. I get that new customers get better offers, and I don’t mind paying extra if there’s added value, but every time I tried calling them, they kept dropping the call on me - happened about 5 times. I ended up spending ages just trying to get through. Switched to Sky instead, got through without any wait, and they offered me loads more for the same price.

Got calls from Virgin Media twice today, once early morning then again around 5.30pm. They had my name and asked something to confirm I was the account holder, then tried to get me to give my password. When I said it sounded dodgy, they quickly said “it’s definitely Virgin Media, you can ring our usual customer service number to check” and then just ended the call. Left me quite baffled.

I’m pretty sure it’s Virgin from the messages I saw on the site. I cancelled since they were asking me to pay £74 for a package I was already getting for £43.50. They told me to cancel mine and switch it to my wife’s name. The call only rings a few times and then either hangs up or no one talks when I pick up. Really weird behaviour.

Virgin Media. I ended my contract yesterday after sticking with them for years and always paying up on time. Tried contacting them for 4 days since they hiked my bill by 23 quid a month, but couldn’t get through to anyone. Eventually found a much better deal elsewhere. When I did manage to speak to someone yesterday, the person was honestly quite nasty and came across as a bit of a bully.

Dang, just missed out on this one. I ended up cancelling Virgin Media yesterday. Was after that Black Friday offer - 350mb broadband, maxi TV, weekend landlines plus 40gb sim for £55 for new folks, but it was £80 for me as an existing customer. Switched it to my wife’s name, grabbed the new deal under mine, right when our contract ran out - same old story really.

Virgin Media retentions Cancelled my plan since the call centre said £60 was possible but new customers only get £45. Retentions first said £47 and told me to cancel then open a new account in my husband's name to snag the offer. So I went ahead. Next day, I rang and they offered £46 plus faster broadband, so even though it’s a quid more, it’s definitely worth being firm. Did something similar a few years back when I almost switched to BT, but they came back with a much better offer than I ever had before. Properly pays off to call their bluff and wait for this number to get in touch.

Seems to be Virgin Retentions calling as I ended my contract on Monday. This is the sixth call I've had in just two days. Every time I pick up, the call just cuts off after a few seconds. I reckon it's some kind of auto dialler that only puts you through if an agent is available. Feels less like they're trying to keep me as a customer and more like pure pestering now.

I told these annoying lot to stop ringing me after I had six or more calls every single day for ages. They promised to take me off their list and leave me alone. But now they've sneakily switched to the number above and keep calling me non-stop. It’s odd how when you actually need Virgin to sort something out, you have to wait forever for them to pick up, but the moment you cancel, they won’t leave you alone. They couldn’t fix my package when I asked, and after all the hassle, it’s no wonder I decided to leave. I’m going somewhere else with a much better deal now.

This is Virgin Media Retentions calling. I’ve seen loads of folks moaning, but honestly, these are the ones who’ll sort you out with the best Virgin deals. There’s plenty of advice online on how to handle them, but it’s worth having a chat. If you drop a hint you’re after a good deal but won’t settle for rubbish, you’d be amazed what they can offer. My 50Mbit deal for £16.50 just finished recently and I missed their call, but now I know it’s them, I’ll give it a go and see what they can do.

From what I can see in other reviews, this was definitely Virgin Media’s retention team calling. I ended up cancelling my entire plan not too long ago. I tried to hold onto the broadband at first, but after dealing with about five different departments who couldn’t sort out cancelling my TV, I just gave up and ditched the lot. Their idea of customer service is non-existent, and right when things have been toughest all round, they go and make it even worse. So that’s that, goodbye Virgin Media! Number’s blocked 🚫

Got a ring from this number on my mobile earlier. I picked up and a woman said hello but then just hung up. I had already cancelled my Virgin landline about a month ago, which should be off in a few days. Oddly, 3 minutes before that, I got a call on the landline from 07582967385. It only rang a few times and then stopped. When I tried calling back, the call cut off straight away. This number isn't showing up on this site either. I've been getting loads of strange calls like this, which is one reason I'm ditching the landline.

I missed the call as it was really quick and they didn’t leave a voicemail. After seeing some other comments, I can say I also recently asked to CANCEL ALL MY VIRGIN MEDIA SERVICES. When I logged into my Virgin account, I found they’d added a 12 month landline contract that I never asked for or agreed to. Makes me wonder if this sort of dodgy behaviour is normal for them? My advice is to stop your direct debit and deal with things the old fashioned way - check your bills carefully and only pay what you actually owe, instead of letting companies sneak money out of your account.

Looks like its Virgin Media 'cancellation team' calling. I ended my contract recently because with Covid-19 and money being tight, paying for endless TV channels nobody really watches isnt worth it. You can tell where customers cash goes, coz when I first rang them their "special deal" was rubbish and cost more than another firm’s price for the same stuff. Why didnt they just give me a good offer right away instead of faffing about? I said no to their follow-up deal, especially cause the first person I spoke with was so bad at talking me into it, just annoyed me.

Virgin totally messed up when I told them to cancel my broadband, tv, and phone deal but they only cancelled the broadband and tv, keeping the phone on! Now they say I’m stuck with the phone contract for another year and there’s threats of debt collectors already! Of course, their customer service line is useless and not answering because of Covid 19, so I can’t even sort it out! And meanwhile, Richard Branson is off asking for billions to cover Virgin Airways losses from the pandemic!!!!

0345 454 1098 After reading the comments here I figured out that these pesky calls are from Virgin Media. I just cancelled my broadband with them 2 days ago. They kept hiking the bill by £3 every so often until it reached £55 a month. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 10 years but it clearly means nothing to them. Whenever this number rings and I pick up, nobody says a word. Feels like it’s just to irritate me!

This is Virgin Media alright. When you try and end a service with them, they say it's their "duty" to keep customers. They just keep ringing every single day. Not sure about this "duty" thing, to me it's just plain harassment. I’ve had to block their number. If I decide to use their service again, i'll call them myself. No need for them to be pestering me constantly. Virgin, if you’re listening, sort your customer service out. It’s really poor.

Hilarious really, I ended up ditching Virgin Media just a couple of days ago cos the prices were mental. No loyalty perks at all even though I’ve stuck with them since they first put cable down outside my place like 25 years back. Sounds like I’m not the only one going through this.

This number belongs to Virgin Media, they ring from it when your contract finishes and they try to persuade you with a discount. Last year i was paying £64 but now they wanted £75, yet after the call they dropped it to £55.50 a month. Reading the comments has made me think it's probably Virgin calling, since I just cancelled my plan yesterday! I didn't pick up because my phone showed ‘Possible Fraud’. I left because the prices kept going up and they only offered to drop it from £54 to £41 after I said I wanted out! Why didn't they just give this discount upfront? Virgin media keep ringing me even after I ended my contract with them. Told them in no uncertain terms I’m not interested, yet still they call. I’ve switched to a provider with faster internet, half the cost, and far more reliable service. Unless virgin can do 100mbps for about £24 or less, I’m not wasting my time. Virgin media retention rang me out the blue today, asked for my password. Didn’t give it cause it was a random caller from a number I didn’t know. The lady was quite impolite. Told them to never ring me again.

0345 454 1098 has rung me a few times, but I never picked up. I’ve never been a Virgin Media customer or anything, so no idea why they keep calling. I’m just gonna keep giving it a miss 😒

Just got a call from this number but didnt pick up. I looked it up and loads of people say it’s connected to Virgin Media, usually after an account’s been cancelled. Weird thing is, I did cancel with them but never gave them my mobile number, yet this number called me. Bit strange if you ask me.

It was a bloke from Virgin Media's retention department, seemed quite nice actually.

Got like 5 calls from them over the last couple days. Proper annoying cos I work nights and have to keep my phone loud. Like others mentioned, I called to cancel and they were so rude, then tried to sell me a slower internet plan that cost more than my new provider. Then they just dropped the call on me. Ridiculous!

I ended my Virgin contract a few days ago and since then, this lot have called me 5 times. If it's their retention team, why didn’t they offer me a decent deal when I called to cancel? The first advisor actually hung up on me! When I called back, the second person I spoke to was really rude, completely unhelpful and sounded like she was chatting to a mate during our call. Virgin’s service is awful, I wish I’d never signed up with them. I’ve switched to Sky now and got a way better deal. Can’t recommend Sky enough, I’m paying nearly half of what Virgin wanted!

This number gave me a ring early this morning as well - we usually ignore calls from unknown numbers but getting a call so early is really unsettling, especially when youve got older family members around. You cant help but worry when you hear the phone go off that time of day.

It seems it's a call from Virgin Media's retentions team, but they seem rather inept at switching the call over from their dialler. - caller: Virgin Media

I cancelled Virgin yesterday, and already got two calls on my phone today; seems like they just can't accept a polite no.

Got a call from Virgin Media Retentions Team trying to keep me as a customer by offering a cheaper deal. Pretty pleased with that.

I got a call from 0345 454 1098 but didn’t pick up since I’ve been getting loads of annoying calls from various phone providers and random firms lately. I’m based in Burnley and was just curious if anyone can tell me who it might be? Cheers!

So annoying - I cancelled Virgin but keep getting missed calls from them every single day for the past 5 days :( Just stop already!

Got two calls from this number earlier today. Wasn't able to catch the company they mentioned. The second time I answered, a guy with an accent I couldn’t place had my name. He was really pushy and kept talking over me, so I just ended the call. Honestly, I’d recommend not picking up when this number rings!

Honestly, this is the number for Virgin Media’s customer retention team. I dropped a cancellation note yesterday and guess what? Got a call from this number today trying to convince me to stay with a better offer. They actually gave me a pretty decent deal, so if you’re thinking of cancelling, it might be worth talking to them first or ringing them back. Definitely staying sharp for calls from this in the future!

I'm pretty fed up with Virgin right now. When you call to cancel, they always want to know the reason. I explain that I've already switched to a new internet provider. Doesn’t matter what speeds or deals they throw at me, I’m done and don’t want to stay. Then today, they ring me up again, trying to tempt me with a better offer. I made it clear I’m not interested and just want to end things. If they bother me one more time with another offer, I’m definitely going to report them to Ofcom. This is just getting ridiculous.

This number just rang me up saying they were my internet company. But the moment I asked them to name my provider, they just cut the call. Weird!

At first, all I got was silence when I answered, then suddenly it seemed like a call centre was on the other end, but I couldn’t hear anyone talking!
