0345 351 0192 rang me twice around 8.50 and 9.00 am. I picked up the second call but it was an automated message (they even got my name wrong, calling me Michaela instead of Nicola!). The message said it was from Lloyd’s Bank and asked me to press any key to talk about fraud on my account. I don’t have a Lloyds account at all! Also got two texts late last night claiming Lloyd’s had spotted suspicious activity on my account. I just deleted them straight away. Pretty sure this is a scam. Received a dodgy email pretending to be from PayPal, so I deleted it straight away. Then this morning got a call from someone claiming to be Lloyd's bank about suspicious activity on my account, but the call dropped. Tried ringing them back on 03453510192 but no luck picking up. I ended up ringing the official fraud team who said there’s no funny business with my account. Still can’t tell if that number is a scam or legit. Best bet is to just call your banks fraud department yourself and ignore any unexpected calls.

Honestly, this was for real and to show I'm not trying to scam anyone, here’s what I did. I called Lloyds from their official number, not the one they gave me because I thought it was dodgy. It turns out that was actually their fraud line; they just use a 3-digit extension system. Then I asked the advisor on the official line to connect me to fraud. I made the call from another phone as well, just to be safe from any kind of open line trick. In the end, someone had definitely used my card info online. Now they’re cancelling that card and sending me a replacement.

We got three calls from this number on 29th July 2017. The first one had a recorded message saying my daughter’s Lloyds card was used online and told her to call back quoting a three-digit code she had to mention. The next two calls didn’t leave any messages, the last one came through at about 8.15pm. After reading the comments here, I’m pretty relieved I didn’t pick up.

This number is linked to a group of professional crooks. I noticed several illegal transactions from my account, so I blocked my card straight away. A few hours later, I got a call from this same number claiming to be Lloyds Fraud Department. It was an automated call with a robotic voice, asking to verify if this number was mine and then trying to get my date of birth. I just ended the call. Watch out and never share your details!
