8 yearsI got a call from this number with an automated voice. When I pressed 1, the person on the line claimed to be from HMRC and said I had an arrest warrant for intentional tax fraud. I asked where she was calling from, she said London. I told her I'd get in touch with the London tax office directly. That set off a row, and then she said she’d contact the police and that I’d be arrested. I told her to go ahead, and she just ended the call.HMRCLondon8 yearsI tried getting in touch with I'm.org to raise a complaint, but they told me it wasn’t something they could handle. Instead, they recommended I report the matter to https://www.actionfraud.police.uk.I ' m. org8 yearsI received a call from this number earlier, and when I pressed 1, I was connected to an Indian gentleman who introduced himself as Mike Fowler. He insisted that I jot down his name and provided me with a badge number. Then, he mentioned a case number and claimed I owed HMRC a staggering £16,000, warning me that failing to pay it immediately would result in my arrest and a court appearance. When I probed him about when I supposedly hadn’t settled this debt, he merely stated that my bank account would be frozen if the payment wasn’t made forthwith, or I’d have the police at my door within five minutes to take me away. Then, the call abruptly ended.Mike FowlerHMRC8 yearsThis number rang me earlier today but I didn’t pick up. After seeing what everyone’s saying here, I’m pretty relieved I left it go to voicemail. I don't even apply for any tax credits. It makes me wonder where they get our details from. Surely HMRC should be doing a better job at keeping their info safe.HMRC8 yearsGot a call claiming to be from HMRC saying there was fraud on my account and telling me to press 1. Total scam! I get quite anxious so even after I ended the call, I couldn’t stop fretting about it! Feels like a scam to me, especially with the 0345 number popping up. I know for sure I haven’t done anything dodgy with my taxes! Plus, if a real agency suspected tax fraud, they wouldn’t be so sloppy or pushy about it. Best to just hang up and ignore!8 yearsBeware of this treacherous con - steer clear, do NOT pick up the phone, do NOT engage by pressing 1, and certainly avoid ringing them back. You’re under no obligation to respond to their ridiculous and intimidating communications. These scammers, masquerading as representatives from HM Revenue and Customs, are trying to instill fear with threats of imminent arrest over fabricated tax debts unless you cough up cash right away! They’re cunning, relentless fraudsters who prey on the fearful, and they’ve unfortunately succeeded in swindling several elderly individuals. Stay vigilant and don’t let them take advantage of you!NOTHM Revenue and Customs8 yearsI received a rather alarming call from this number the other day. Upon answering, I was directed to press '1', which then connected me to a gentleman with an Indian accent who introduced himself as Mike Fowler. He warned me that failure to settle this immediately would result in my bank account being frozen and that officers would be on my doorstep within five minutes to take me into custody.
