I’ve received a rather curious phone call lately, supposedly from HMRC, alleging something about tax evasion. It all seemed a bit dodgy and left me feeling quite uneasy. Seems some folks just don't know when to quit with their scams!

Got a call from this number early in the morning, like about 7am, which was super annoying cause my 4 month old baby barely sleeps and it just woke us all up. It was some kind of automated voice telling me I was involved in tax fraud and to press 1 to sort it out. Obviously a scam so I hung up straight away and blocked the number.

Somebody rang me saying they were calling from Marks & Spencer and told me I was due a tenner back. They asked for my bank info to send the refund, but it felt fishy. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a scam call sayin if I dont press 1 I’d get arrested by HMRC, which sounded totally fake. I know HMRC never ring you up like that, they always send a proper letter first telling you to get in touch. If you’re worried, just ring the tax office yourself and they’ll clear things up for you.
