I got a letter that looked like it was from Lloyd's, but the account number was a random 4 digit code that doesn’t belong to us. ABSOLUTE SCAM... Got a text from this number saying it was Lloyds bank. It said something like "Your card ending in *last 4 digits* was declined on a £19.95 purchase from Groupon. Got two calls from this number asking if I’d made a transaction of £500 on Amazon, said it was flagged for fraud. On the first call, they wanted my personal info but I refused and said I’d ring Lloyds myself. The bloke got a bit rude and pushy, which felt off. I called Lloyds and they said it wasn’t them. The second time, when they asked if I made the £500 purchase, I just said yes, and then the caller was totally lost and hung up. Watch out for this kind of thing - it’s really easy to fall for, especially since a quick Google search shows the number as Lloyds.

This number rang me yesterday claiming to be from Lloyds Bank, which seemed dodgy straight away. When I called Lloyds myself, they said they never phone customers like that. They advised me to block the number, so I did, and I’ve also reported it to different fraud teams as a scam attempt.

Got a call from someone saying she was from BT, offering a cheaper deal on line rental and broadband because I’m a business customer. She asked when I last sorted my contract and what price I pay. When I told her I’d just renewed, she said there was no deal for me right now but she’d put a note to ring back in a few months. She didn’t say anything about the mobiles on the same contract. She just thanked me and ended the call. Bit pointless really, wasn’t it?

Got a call from someone saying they were Lloyds fraud. It kicked off with a dodgy text pretending to be from Royal Mail asking for more postage fees to send a parcel. Definitely not legit Royal Mail or Lloyds. This scam is super simple to get caught up in. WATCH OUT!

WATCH OUT - total scammer. Pretended to be from Lloyds bank, sounded proper convincing. Told me there was suspicious activity on my card and wanted me to sign into my banking app. When I called them out as a scam, they swore at me and then just hung up. Had a Northern UK accent and even knew last 4 digits of my card. The phone number they used looks almost exactly like the real Lloyds bank number. Be careful!

Hey, I just got a letter that looks like it’s from Lloyds Bank, but the name on it was wrong. The rest of the address info seemed right though. I rang the number on it, and after calling, it seemed like it was connecting me, then an automated message came on with a voice that seemed familiar. It asked me for my account number, but I said no, then asked for Rob, again I refused. Then it said I’d have to wait 35 minutes to talk to an advisor. I’m gonna take the letter to the actual bank later. Watch out for this!

They claimed to be Lloyds bank yet again. I’ve gotten calls from this number before and Lloyds themselves told me it was a scam. The real number they’re copying belongs to an incoming call centre for Lloyds and they never make outgoing calls from it.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Santander. They already had my name, address and email. They said it was about a £10,000 loan and some weird activity on my account. Asked me what I expected my bank balance to be and if I’d done any online shopping or lost my debit card. Felt really fishy.

When I declined to cooperate and insisted on his name as well as requesting to speak to a manager, he actually had the audacity to say, “You lucky little so-and-so, you wouldn’t believe the hundreds of pounds I’ve raked in today while lounging about!” I suggest hanging up and reaching out to Lloyds directly, as this isn’t them at all!

Received a message this morning at precisely 9:45, claiming to be from Lloyds Bank, attempting to siphon £50.75 from my account for something they called DVLA-UIL. Someone rang saying they were from Lloyds fraud team and knew a few personal things about me. They mentioned two dodgy transactions in Liverpool on my card. Felt a bit iffy, so the young woman on the phone told me to check the number was the same as on my bank card - it was. She then asked me to log into my mobile banking and said she’d send me a code to cancel the payments. That’s when I ended the call and contacted Lloyds directly, who told me it was a scam. They kept ringing me even after I hung up. BE CAUTIOUS.

Sounds like a total scam to me. They said they were from Lloyds Bank, asking if I made a £250 payment to Royal Mail. Why on earth would Royal Mail be charging that much? Plus, it ties in with this text I got about paying Royal Mail for redelivering a parcel. Definitely fishy.

I’ve never been a Lloyds client, yet I keep getting loads of texts pretending to be about my account. Some say there’s overdraft activity, others mention new payees being set up, often including a link telling me to call 03453000000 if it wasn’t me. That number could belong to Lloyds, but I doubt following the link would actually put me through to them. The account number mentioned ends in 1268 and the latest message weirdly called me Mrs Parker. I've had no calls at all, just these suspicious messages.

This is a Halifax scam, for sure. If they call you, don’t hold back - be firm and straight up aggressive about it, otherwise they’ll keep bombarding you with texts and calls from different numbers. Make it clear you’re onto their scam. Also, change any security questions and passwords ASAP, cause they probably already got some info on you. They used Facebook to get my mum’s maiden name and somehow managed to find my full address, postcode, and even my account number.
