Some bloke rang saying he was from my electric provider, claiming he had all my info. He wanted me to agree on the spot without me getting anything in writing first. His English was really bad, even though he insisted he was local. He then said if I didn’t agree straight away, I wouldn’t be able to get electricity or switch suppliers at all. I told him that felt like a threat and I wasn’t sticking around for that chat.

They claimed to be from SSE energy, ringing from different numbers all ending with 124 52. I rang SSE to double-check and they confirmed no calls were made from that number. Definitely dodgy.
