Got a call from this number, and they claimed to be Tesco while I was trying to pay over the phone but the automated system kept messing up. After I finally sorted the payment out by speaking to a real person in customer service, that same number rang me back asking if I was struggling with my finances and having trouble making payments. Bit strange that the call came from a Vida Phone mobile number, though.

They said they were from Tesco bank and wanted me to confirm my address, postcode, and date of birth. I paused the call and asked them to provide some info about my account, like part of the account number, before I gave them my DOB. They wouldn’t do it! It’s not like my DOB is super secret, but it’s still personal info, and since I couldn’t verify who they really were, I just hung up. If this was Tesco Bank, it’s really poor practice to ask for details without proving who they are first.

I reckon this number is dodgy. They’ve buzzed me loads on my mobile and landline, claiming to be Tesco Bank. They said they had to speak to me but wouldn’t say why unless I answered security questions. They refused to let me talk to a manager or give any proper details. When I rang Tesco Bank on the real helpline, they said that sounds fishy and said I shouldn’t trust the call as the bank wouldn’t need to get in touch for no reason. Feels like a scam trying to get into my bank account.

This number called me and asked for my name. When I asked who was calling, the person said they couldn’t give their name for security reasons. I told them that since they called me, they should know who they’re ringing. Then they said I had to give my number back for security, otherwise they’d hang up. I told them to go ahead and ended the call. They keep calling every evening until around 8.30, and it’s really starting to get on my nerves. I’m so anxious now that I just don’t answer my phone anymore. It’s not right to make someone feel threatened in their own home like this - it’s simply not acceptable.
