What a nuisance! This number keeps ringing me incessantly. Most times, it seems to be someone of Asian background (not that it matters to me), but I really can't see any connection to SSE. I've had enough and have now blocked the number using BT's 1572 service.

Spoke to an Asian woman who couldn’t say my surname properly, claimed she was from SSE and said folks round here have “old meters” that needed swapping out. Asked if I wanted to set up a time. Theyve called me quite a few times over the past few days. Claimed to be from SSE and said they needed to book a time to swap my meter because it was due for replacement. They even said theyd handle both my meters. Then, for "security reasons" and to make sure the engineer showed up at the right place, they asked me to confirm my name and address. Just like others have mentioned, I got a new meter fitted last year and asked the bloke from SSE if it was mandatory to get a smart meter. He told me no, he didn’t even have one himself! After looking through other folks comments, I’m not shocked if it was SSE calling again, trying to tell me I HAVE to get a smart meter because “it’s the law!” I asked them which exact law and where I could find it in Hansard. They just said it would be the law and I told them I highly doubted that. Seems like they’re mostly after older people, my neighbours mentioned the same. I didn’t pick up ‘cause I was out, but I checked the last missed number and there was no message left.

Energy firms pushing us to accept unproven smart meters is worrying. There are loads of studies showing possible health risks like cancer and harm to human cells and DNA caused by EMF / RF radiation from these Smart Meters. I really think folks should look into it themselves, even though companies like British Gas keep saying the EMF emissions from smart meters are harmless.

Got a call from this number, they were looking for Mrs Red or something. I was meant to have arranged a smart meter installation, but honestly I never wanted one and I’m definitely not Mrs Red! I told them that straight out. When I said I'd be reporting the number, I heard “Oh no” and then the line just went dead. Bit strange, if you ask me.

Just got a call from SSE. Seemed legit and they said if I agreed I’d get £50 knocked off my next electricity bill. Sounded alright to me 😄

If this was really SSE ringing about the smart meter, they’d have a better approach. I looked up the number and couldn’t find anything tying it to SSE at all. Feels like it’s probably a scam. They keep calling me every single day, so I’ve just blocked the number now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a well known energy company, saying they’d be in my neighbourhood next week to install a smart meter I'd supposedly asked for. I never asked for one and definitely don’t want it. Watch out, this feels dodgy!

SSE Smart meters keep ringing my phone all the time. Even though I’ve set my phone to automatically block their calls, sometimes I catch loads of blocked calls from them popping up throughout the day. Quite annoying really!

Got a letter through the post saying it was from SSE about a smart meter, but they spelt my name wrong. That made me look closer and the letter seemed a bit off in other ways too. Then today, this number called me saying I absolutely had to get a smart meter fitted. I’d be careful with them and just get in touch with SSE yourself if you want one sorted.
