I got caught out by this scam earlier today, nearly handed over some personal info. It was someone pretending to be from Cabot Financial, a supposed debt collector. Make sure you're super cautious! They claimed to owe money on a debt I’ve never heard of. Definitely reported it to the bank and the fraud people right away.

Beware of CABOLT FINANCIAL, they’ve returned with their scams! They try to extract any bit of your private info they can. Just hang up and block their calls straight away. They keep ringing from loads of different phone numbers, so watch out. If it’s someone real on the line, don’t say a word. And even if it’s an automated message, block them immediately!

cabot sent me a letter about a debt that was already statute barred, which is just not right. they said if we had provided any info to prove it, it could have reopened the case. really dodgy and totally not ethical at all.

Cabot debt collectors rang me but I don’t owe anything so sounds like a scam. They even sent me a letter. I’d say block their number and hang onto the letter just in case you get more, it could be useful proof if the police get involved. No clue how they got my phone number though.

this number came with a letter addressed to someone who used to live at my place. looks like it's from cabot financial, some sort of debt collector. the tone felt pretty intimidating, especially with the line "we need to hear from you, if we don't we will keep contacting you.” the envelope had a po box 189, huddersfield hd8 1dy on it as well.
