Got calls non-stop from Altaro, who said they were ringing for Orange. My account was outdated or whatever, they claimed, and since I never had a phone line, there was supposedly no service because Orange’s bought out the company. Now it’s with EE, some French lot or something. Anyway, when I finally checked my bank records properly, I found out they’d been charging me £12.43 every month for something like four or five years without me realising it at all. Quite worrying, really.

Got a call from a number I didn't recognise, with a really strong foreign accent. I don't owe any money or anything, so I reckon it's probably just another scam attempt.

They rang up looking for my son, who moved out around seven years ago. We didn’t give out any info and they actually handed over this phone number and a reference number, telling us to ring them back. They claimed to be from Arvato Financial Solutions.
We believed there was no debt owed but it still left us feeling quite anxious and upset. Turns out, it looks like it was just a scam after all.

Received a letter from Arvato Debt Collection which said they were collecting £50 on behalf of Orange. The letter included a number, customer ID and client reference, but when I checked on the Arvato website, none of these details matched anything there. Quite confusing!

I get calls from these people daily. They keep asking for my date of birth and to verify my name. They claim I owe money on an Orange account, which isn’t true at all. It’s getting really annoying now. I’m curious how they even got hold of my number. Is there a way I can stop them from ringing me?

Got a letter warning me about legal action for a bill supposedly unpaid from over three years ago, and it was sent to an old address too. When I rang the number on the letter, they started asking for my personal info like dob and phone number. I wasn't convinced if it was legit, so I ended the call since they refused to explain who they were or why I got the letter. The voicemail was pretty weird as well, giving no clear details. Honestly, I'd steer clear of this one.

bew (buchanan, clarke and wells) is a debt collector mainly dealing with gas, electric and phone bills. they operate out of glasgow. I've noticed they sometimes pretend to be other firms, like orange, when they call you. probably trying to trick you into phoning back and giving your info.

This number rang me twice this morning, once at around 9 and then again at 11. It’s the same scam outfit linked to Buchanan Clark and Wells. Luckily, I looked it up here first and didn’t bother calling back. Told me it was dodgy, and glad I didn’t answer properly.

I keep getting texts from +102148 saying things like "Mr xxx, please call 03450020338 urgently" and they include a code like xxxx. This is so annoying. There seriously needs to be a way to block these numbers and take legal action against whoever's behind it.

i keep getting calls telling me to ring this number, turns out it’s a prepaid sim card from japan! the caller said it’s connected to some company named buchanan, clark and wells. lucky i didn’t phone back, but i bet some folks might fall for it.
