3 yearsFell victim to a scam where they claimed to be from Microsoft, showing official-looking logos and company info. They warned me about hackers messing with my internet account and said they’d run a check - asking for a £2 fee for “new security software.” They even dangled £150 compensation as some kind of goodwill gesture. Only later did I find out they’d used my card details to repeatedly take money from my account. Took me ages to contact my bank and block it, by which time a fair bit had already gone. They’d somehow created an account in my name with Moneygram without me knowing, linked to a guy called Jim Joseph Rosales, who I think is in the Philippines.
