I got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft, saying my info was being used wrong and I hadn’t replied to error alerts. I told them I didn’t buy it and figured it was just a scam. They then went on about shutting down my internet and phone line. Even after that threat, I told them I wasn’t convinced at all.

This number is definitely dodgy, they try to trick you into giving personal info. When you ring it, it claims to be Microsoft, but it's got no ties to them at all.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be from Microsoft, telling me my PC was hacked. She gave me a phone number that looked official but was actually a mobile: 07824156353. It was clearly a scam. She was really forceful and rude, trying to get me to let her into my computer. She even raised her voice at me. My advice is to hang up straight away if you get a call like this.

Got a call from someone who sounded Indian, claiming to be William Smith from Reading. Honestly, no one with an Indian background is called William Smith! I just hung up straight away because I’m sure I don’t know that person. He told me my Microsoft account had been compromised by overseas scammers. He actually knew my full name and where I live, which was a bit creepy. I told him I wasn’t buying it and he said he’d ring back tomorrow. I really doubt any of it. I’ve got two different internet security systems running and neither have flagged anything suspicious.

Really bad call today... They kept going on about how my computer must have been hacked and that I needed to log into Microsoft straight away. Funny thing is, as soon as my daughter-in-law got on the phone and started talking to them, they never rang back! These scam people are just the worst.

I got three calls from 0344 800 2400 right in the dead of night at 2.45, then again at 3.06 and 3.11. It woke me and my partner up proper shocked. Before that, I’d asked for a tech support callback through the Microsoft support site, so I thought maybe it was legit, but honestly, who calls you at that time?! I ignored the calls and eventually blocked the number, and luckily they stopped ringing after that. Not sure if they grabbed my number off the real Microsoft page or if I accidentally used a fake Microsoft support site, but it was pretty dodgy either way.

This is bizarre, I searched for Microsoft Offices in London and it showed 2 Kingdom Street Paddington with the phone number 03448002400. But when I checked a directory of tenants at 2 Kingdom Street, Microsoft wasn’t listed at all. I’m worried I might have unknowingly been caught up in a scam. I got a call from 07983170486, a man with an Asian accent claiming he was from Microsoft. He said my laptop was compromised and hackers were using it to visit gambling and adult websites. He insisted he needed to connect to my computer to fix the problem. When I questioned him, he said he was calling from Microsoft's main office in Reading and even gave me a phone number, 03448002400, supposedly for his department. I got a call from 074120398818, a woman said my Microsoft software was at risk. When I asked for more details, a bloke interrupted, saying his name was "James Classen". He warned me about illegal stuff on my PC that could cause trouble for others, and that legal action might be taken against me. He said they’d lock my computer and I’d have to visit their office with ID to unlock it. I told him I needed to check a few things first, so he handed me a number to ring back - 0344 8002400 - which I later found out has been flagged as suspicious before.

I got in touch with the Microsoft tech support through the official site and shortly after, this number gave me a ring. Seems like they might hire their tech support from outside. They sorted out my Windows licence reactivation no problem at all. From what I saw, it looked like a genuine contact, but I can’t say for certain if the number’s been misused before, or if lots of different call centres use it as some sort of shared line.

Had this really pushy woman on the phone insisting I’d not replied to emails from "Microsoft" about my computer being hacked. She warned me I’d lose all services within an hour if I didn’t get back to them. Since I couldn’t use my computer then, she gave me an 0344 number to call. Do Microsoft actually do this kind of thing? I mean, if they’re such a huge company and know about hackers, why don’t they just block the access altogether? Surely they have the tools to do that. So, I had trouble with activating Windows on my brand new computer. I went to the link that popped up on the error screen and put in my phone number on what looked like Microsoft's site to get a help link. Then this number rang me. About 03 Numbers

Numerous organizations utilize 03 numbers instead of the more expensive 08 numbers. As an example, a number of public sector bodies have transitioned from 0845 numbers to 0345. The price of calls is the same as calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02). The charges for calls depend on the time of the day, and most providers offer call packages that allow calls free of charge during certain times of the day. Mobile call costs vary based on the selected calling plan. Generally, these calls are included in free call packages.
