7 monthsBeware, this number is part of a Microsoft scam and connects to a German number 004917851875226. The caller claims to be Rachel Kim from Microsoft Reading and is really pushy. She even told me to Google her name to prove she works for Microsoft. While there might be someone with that name at Microsoft or just a fake LinkedIn account, she's actually calling from Reading but currently in Spain. Don’t get caught out by this!MicrosoftRachel KimReadingGoogleSpain1 yearA woman phoning me earlier insisting she was ringing from 'Microsoft'. She mentioned some serial code linked to my PC, though I haven't checked if it's legit yet. The number displayed on my mobile didn’t match hers, and when I asked for a call-back number, she provided 0344 800 2400. Seemed quite pushy, really.Microsoft5 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft about my laptop's sound not working. They said they could fix it but needed to access my laptop remotely and asked me to enter a five-letter code. I refused and ended the call straight away. The number was 003448002400 and it showed up at 3.05pm on 26th October 2021. Just a heads up, this call was definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!Microsoft7 yearsQuick heads up about that last "Safe" comment - the proper Microsoft phone number in the UK is 0344 800 2400. This one here, 003448002400, is supposedly from Spain, so they’re definitely not the same. What’s weird is they didn't even bother going past our BT call blocker, especially since we’re expecting a callback from Microsoft support right now!MicrosoftUKSpain7 yearsI got a call from this number, and it turned out to be from Microsoft. They said they wanted to help with my 365 subscription by creating a support case for me, then giving me a ring. Looks like it’s a proper sales call from their official customer support line you can find here: [#][#]microsoft[###]/en-gb/about/contact/Microsoft7 yearsSomebody from Spain keeps calling using this number 0034 4800 2400, and it’s definitely a scam. I’d seriously avoid picking up if you see it!Spain7 yearsGot a call from someone saying they're from Microsoft about my 365 account. The same bloke rang last week but from a different number based in Washington State, USA. I blocked the old number already. They asked if I had my portal open, but they didn't push any further than that. They called me twice before I finally blocked the number.MicrosoftWashington State8 yearsOver the past week or so, I’ve gotten about half a dozen calls from this number claiming to be BT outreach. There’s an automated voice, a lady named Sherrie with a sort of American accent, warning me my internet will be disconnected in 24 hours unless I press 1 to fix it. I smartly avoid pressing anything since I’m well aware it’s dodgy. Instead, I just keep the phone off the hook so they rack up the minutes. Just to add, I’ve never even been a BT customer!BTSherrie8 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be BT, warning me my internet was about to be cut off. Total scam, I reckon. They wanted me to hit 1 so I could "chat with a technician," but I’m sure it was just a trick to get remote access to my computer or laptop. Definitely don’t trust these calls!BT8 yearsGot a call for my 89 year old mum saying something about BT Openreach cutting off her internet. The thing is, she hasn’t even got internet! Just another one of those dodgy scams, total con job.BT Openreach8 yearsGot a call the other day saying something like my IP address was at risk cause it’d been "compromised from multiple countries" and I needed to press 1 to speak to an Openreach technician. Sounded dodgy to me straight away, so obviously, I didn’t bother pressing anything. It said something like: "Hello from BT Openreach. We've been trying to get hold of you. Your internet will be cut off in 48 hours because your IP address has been hacked from multiple countries. Press 1 now to talk to an Openreach technician." Thing is, they rang my Virgin Mobile number and I don't even have BT broadband, so I figured it was rubbish and just ignored it.CadburyBTOpenreachVirgin8 yearsEvery morning around 9.30 I get a call from the same number. Some people ring up pretending they’re from an internet provider saying your computer’s been hacked. Don’t ever share any personal details or let them near your computer.
